Here's a little help for other people like me, who still have a slower machine. As the requirements say, you'll need more than 2GHZ und 512RAM - I'm actually playing it on a 1,1GHZ AMD, 256RAM + gf3!
There's a whole lot of tweaking software for GFX drivers out there, which really help to improve performance. I personally use aTuner for my nvidia drivers - you'll find other ATI compatible tweakers at guru3d.org.
What you can do to improve PKs performance is A) Reserve RAM-memory for textures (I set it to 50MB) and B) change the mipmap bias (I have 1.50000)
Of course, you should set everything to LOW or even very low detail - I guess you already did that.
