Bottom line: the Painkiller demo is awesome. The finished game will rock. I heard about Painkiller in several previews, but my critic's intuition kicked in and I said "its gonna be one of those looks great, less filling games". Boy, was I STUPID. The demo blew me away(I still havent stopped playing it btw :) )and I simply cannot wait to see the finished game. People may complain about the difficulty level, but I think its perfect old school type gameplay; no more quicksave fests. People may complain about the dark, gothic elements of the game,(hey even I was iffy about that at first), but its perfect(people would complain a LOT more about shoving stakes through people instead of zombies and undead knights :) ). The gameplay, while you claim is old school(which I agree on)is also groundbreaking, way more so than other so-called revolutionary shooters. The few, but extremely(emphasis on extremely) well developed and fun weapons beat out a large arsenal of mostly usless hardware anyday(i.e. all of your weapons have their uses; many other games have several weapons that are useless)The gold and card system adds a kind of RPGish "upgrade according to your playstyle" thing without detracting from the adrenaline pumping action. I could go on and on about how great this game is, but ill give your eyes a rest :D All in all I say again, I tip my hat to you, People Can Fly.
