View Full Version : Speed up ... slow down.

I have been playing the demo on my pc at home and it started to go really slow. This was in the palace map in the wide open area so I turned down some of the detail. The best option seemed to be the Creature detail from high to medium.

Then everything speeded up! The creatures ran around like on speed (compared to before), the weapon reloaded and fired like crazy, it felt like time was moving really really fast.

I started playing the game at the office with full detail on (as much as the demo would allow) and it was still on speed. Everything again ran/worked really really fast!

I know this sounds strange but its more of a feeling that everything is working too fast. Like when you play some old games that were designed for a certain processor speed. When you play them on modern hardware you have to slow down the processor because the games run too fast.

Is the demo's internal clock heavily linked to FPS? Normally when you get more FPS things still work at roughly the same pace, creatures/physics dont speed up noticeably.

This is merely an observation on the demo running on two different sets of hardware and not anything negative. Strangely enough when played at the slower speed everything was still ok, you just had more time to think and react! hehe
