90% of the time I try to load a quick same game from the main menu, it loads about half way on the loading bar the game disappears off my screen.
I have to keep trying different past saves until one works. What gives?!
I have a P4 3.0
1,000+ RAM 3200
200 GB hard drive
128 MB Geforce card, I updated the drivers
this cant be my computer, its the **** buggy game

I have the same problem on the Train Station level.
I also have trouble loading past saved games.
My game version is Painkiller Gold 1.64
Using a properly cooled Asus A8V, AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1GB Corsair TWINX PC3200, BFG GeForce FX 6800 Ultra, SB Audigy 2 Gamer.
The game crashes on Quickloads, regular loads and loading Autosaves. The crash is consistent and predictable which should make it easy to debug.
When the game crashes, I get this error message :
The instruction at "0x2112de1a" referenced memory at "0x03ce4ad0". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate thr program.
I can go back and find saved games that work but all subsequent saves do not work.
P.S. I patched to 1.64 before playing and before saving any games...so I am not dealing with an issue of trying to load games saved with an earlier patch level.

I have the same problem during save game. I tried quick save and save game too. If i try to save i get an application error message and a corrupt save.
I found this problem on train station level, at the ticket offices. Almost at the and of the level.

How many quicksaves do you guys have in the savegame folder? You´ll get problems if it goes past 999.

I have ~10 quick saves. Less because some of them became corrupt...
The last directory name is 065.
I don't have 999 save games :D
I tried to go on, but the autosave made an application error too :(

I think problem solved. I had to load another quicksave. But I don't really understand it, because the last 3 quicksave made the error but the 4th didn't.
Thanks for your help! :)

Fashinating how all languages in Europe come from the same ancient people.
But this problem sounds weird nontheless. Maybe the patching had something to do with it?

I have the newest patch installed. (First post last line v1.64 :D )
I hope this problem won't mess the other levels.
My windows XP is almost 1 year old, maybe it't too ... tired? :D
But other games don't freez or something...
I have newest drivers.

My WinXP is 3 years old and the saving works fine for me.
Have you tried to use manual saving?

Yes I tried!
It made an application error.
I tried to go on to have an autosave but that was corrupt too.
As I wrote the 4th quick save was fine so I moved on.
Abandoned Factory - No problem
Military Base - No problem
Ruins - No problem
Castle - No problem
Maybe it's a bug on the Train station level.

That may be so, but I never experienced it.
Strange.
