I really did not do much to get it to work. The game was not working at first I tried the cd fix, the .dll hack, the .exe hack none worked keep in mind this was on my TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R5112
dvd-r/rw burner IT DID NOT WORK when I installed off of that drive. So I plugged in my handy USB 2.0cd burner let it find the drivers & then I uninstalled PainKiller & reinstalled off of the cd-burner just for fun after setup I checked run P/K & unchecked install D/X 9.0b & view readme............ sec's later BAM I was playing the freaking game, Dude I was so happy so I played the first level "freak'n awesome", then I closed the game and I thought I wonder if it will now run off of my TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R5112 ... and Hell yeah it did I don't know why it would play off it now but it does and I am happy..... so point of my story if you have not got the game to run and you have tried everything known to us good people who have paid for the game try to install off of a second cd drive if you have one, try an external cd drive it worked for me..
