You have got to be kidding me on this copy protection. I picked up Painkiller last week and it took me a week to just get it to run. This is unacceptable. I buy 20 games a year, I pirate zero. I happen to have licenced copy of CloneCD installed because I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. 'Nuff said.
So I have to uninstall CloneCD to play Painkiller? CloneCD won't backup most new titles, I was thinking about going with Alcohol 120%, but I'm sure this is blacklisted by Painkiller as well.
Painkiller won't start from my Toshiba SD-1712 DVD-ROM, just sits and spins forever. (Yes, I have the patch installed) I have to put the disk in my Plextor 401240A. Thank goodness the Toshiba isn't my only drive.
Every game has a working crack. It's a challenge for some bored person to crack the latest copy protection. This is never gonna end.
When is Dreamcatcher, Macrovision and the rest of the software industry gonna figure this out? I'm mad, get your act together!
I figure someone owes me a 50% off coupon for my next game or something. I would have just brough this game back but the challenge of spending a couple of hours just trying to get it to run was exciting.
I think I'll try making a backup copy and getting that to run as my next fun project. Wait, this copy protection is so secure, I'd never get that to work.... LOL.
