i have asked portions of this question in several posts, so let me consolidate:
i gather that you can export single player chars to play in multi. good. can you export multiplayer chars to play in single? can you import a char into a saved single player game? can all players in a multiplayer game save the game so they can play on from where they left off, or just the host?
