hi I have a great idea for dungeon lords. I hope the dev team puts a program where you could import/export characters in the game. because personally I loved the import/export in both Diablo and Sacred. I think that would be a great idea oh and also it would be nice to add difficulty levels to the game, I read in another thread that they are doing that already, but I don't know for sure. just some thoughts though.

I agree there should be:
Difficulty Levels:
A) Easy: Monsters suffer movement penalty and are sometimes passive
B) Moderate: A few monsters can be found as passive
C) Hard: Monsters have a slight increased defense
D) Very Hard: Monsters have increased defense and aggression also some monsters have increased speed and life
E) Insane: All monsters have increased defense, aggression, speed and life
F) Impossible: All monsters have increased defense, aggression, speed, life and statistics/abilities
Game Settings:
A) SoftCore: Death means lost experience and gold
B) SolidCore: Death means lost experience, gold and statistics[-1 randomly]
C) HardCore: Death means forever dead... if revived then serious loss of experience and statistics

This may seem off the wall for a comparison, but in Lego Star Wars (my wife and kids just got it for me for my b-day) when you die, you explode into Lego pieces, and lose some of the stuff you've collected. It can hamper your ability to unlock secret things, so you don't want to die, but it is not a 'game stopper' if you do ... that sounds like 'easy' mode to me ...

D) NormalCore: Death means you have to reload your last save.
If we can agree on that, then by all means, have at your other options :)

Don't make it have to reload on a normal death!
What about multi-player??
Just make it so there are stacking penalties to reviving without a rez scroll based upon your difficulty.

I think that is the thing - as Tenka pointed out, they are likely to have two different save/load systems, one for MultiPlayer and one for Single Player. This makes sense as the context is entirely different.

you're correct in that i was assuming that his suggestions were for singleplayer as well as multiplayer, in which case my counter point still stand.
however, if he's referring to multiplayer saves, then i will 'take back' my requests and let you have whatever you want (that they give) as i don't plan on touching the multiplayer part anyway.

i can't stand playing a game if i can't get immersed in it, and i can't get immersed in a game if i have to deal with 'people', simply because with other people, you're always dealing with everybody tugging at your strings (and each other's) to do this or that and go here or there, or yap about this or that, generally ruining my immersion within seconds of entering the game.
i'm after a different type of fun/experience. although i'm sure i could find some people who are like me and want a similar immersion in the game and group with them, the problem then becomes one of scheduling, and more importantly, time. I play when i can for however long i can, i'm not interested in setting up schedules to group with people.
funny how when you're young you have little money and tons of time, and when you get older it inverts.
