Well, sure enough, there is a way to get into other zones in the demo by back-flipping over several mountains (as another poster mentioned).
This helped me to see that this game is a good bit better than the lousy demo led me to believe. VERY stupid to release a demo that makes your game look like garbage (sorry folks, but that is honest feedback).
The areas really are huge, vary quite a bit in appearance, and the wandering monsters start to change at a good pace keeping me guessing. Still a bit too random for my taste (example, trolls teaming up with soldiers one battle and then goblins the next??) but as the sun started to rise and pretty lakes, flowers, and new monsters started appearing, the game was pretty fun.
Also, I noted that it is possible to run from some but not all monsters as is the case in Wizardry 8 and I like that as it adds to the strategy of if running is smart or not in each case.
Note: I had the random spawn set on "less", normal is way WAY too many for even a remote sense of a real world as far as I'm concerned.
So, for the publisher: get a better demo!! And for the fans, don't judge the game by the repetitive and dull dungeon dive that are the sewers as there seems to be a nice feel outdoors in the larger areas. Hopefully some of the other dungeons are better done and less repetitive.
P.S. getting into the other areas is tough to find and far from easy to actually accomplish, the game also crashes quite a bit out there so unless you are willing to rough it quite a bit I'd not even attempt it.
