Firstly, the music. It's really well done, the tune is so catchy that I find it's in my head hours after quitting the demo, and it has this really epic feel to it, that's dramatic in parts and quiet and pregnant with intensity in others. Great job, whoever composed it. I only hope that there is more music of similar quality in the rest of the game....

Then there's the presentation. I really like the graphics and animations I saw in the demo, the menus and interface looks old-school (could have just been the 800 x 600 resolution that did it) and the colours are rich and the palette is pleasantly varied.

The monsters I've encountered are pleasing enough, and the war troll at the end of the demo is just fantastic! You guys have done great work here, I can't wait to see what other eye candy awaits me in the full version.

The combat, while a bit clumsy, improves drastically as I levelled my character's abilities, so I don't think they completely fudged it as is the impression of many gamers. I can only assume that you HAVE to suck at the start of any RPG... otherwise, what would the point be of improving your skills, right?

I think I just like the overall feel of the game, and that it has a lot of depth that is only apparent after patient exploration of its many aspects (interface, combat, graphics). On these scores, well done. The bugs, the sounds, the balancing of skills, the lack of an inventory and monster frequency/strength are a different story, but those have been talked about to death so I thought I'd try something a little different with this post.

Good luck to all of you at Heuristic who are no doubt not sleeping, eating well or seeing much of your families during this crunch time. I hope all your hard work pays off!

I love the trolls in the game. Really reminds me of the time I got pig-skewered by one in Moria. No, seriously, they have a great presence and look to them. I hope there are a ton more enemies like this in the full version.

yeah but this is just a quick demo not from the final game so lets see what happens in the final version.

Before there was even a demo when they had the dungeon lords site its the same music as in the demo's menu i just loved it thats how music should be in these kind of games those beautiful yet powerful sounding music at the same time know what i mean?

The monsters in the game look very good theres alot of detail in the monsters there very good just loved when the goblins are pretty far away and you can hear them laughing and jiggling in a evil laugh before they try to kill you.

I also love the engine these kind of graphics and detail is perfect for these kind of games we dont need some doom 3 engine that would just make the game ugly with its boring smooth computer graphics , these models and atmosphere have actual detail doesnt just look like plain colors and smeared all over the place with ugly dark colors looks very nice.

I didnt play the demo much because i didnt really wanna play to much of it cause its comming out soon and i dont wanna do it over again the combat was a little sluggish and strange specially for a warrior i was mad at first but after 10 or 20 mins i got use to it and was doing fine but i needed to put all of my points in DEX if iwanted to hit anything so all the other stuff i couldnt touch hope they balance it in the full version.

The magic is to over powered the small fireball it killed everything it hit these arent strong monsters yet because its the start of the game and melee took several hits , i got use to the combat you cant just run into the enemy and slash away if you wanna live you gotta look what the enemy does and time your moves or if you got alot of potions to blow i guess you can just stand in front of him and slash the **** out of him.

Just when there is alot of enemies near you the combat gets a bit annoying and frustrating because when your doing every time you do the attack for the 4th move the character does the spinning attack with his sword its a strong move and when ever it hits some one usually always kills them but if theres tons of ppl you will always get hi and countered and theres no way to stop this unless you take 3 times stop 3 times stop etc.

Theres more to say but im to lazy i cant wait to play the final version and i really hope chuk pulls threw and adds the right hand combat.

The easiest things to notice in this game that are well done are the Monster Detail they look very nice i like the setting in the game simple medieval but its not bland looks nice has that nice feeling to the game when i first played gothic i hated it i quit after 4 mins then i played it again and i played it 3 days straight until i beat it so this game is prolly gonna be the same.

Cant wait to hear the other music too.

That would be cool if they added a finisher move where the enemy is on the ground your character can stab them in the heart or stomach to finish them off cause when they were on the ground you cant hit them or at least i dont think you could cant remember.

The melee fighters skills seemed like they didnt do anything its confusing if you dont know what there suppose to do alot of ppl was asking , i just hope i dont have to put all my points in DEX to be able to hit stuff cause i wanna spend the points in other stuff too.

I think that there's a lot of stuff that they did right, but it's just a matter of fine-tuning those things to make them *great*. That balance requires a lot of trial-and-error testing, and therefore, a good bit of time. Like I've said before, this demo shows a lot of promise, but there's definitely room for improvement.
