Muffled Sound Workaround

i posted this already, but as we all kno, many posts eviscerated (7).

start---run---dxdiag---click on sound tab---change hardware acceleration to OFF (all the way to the left)

problem solved.

side note: having this disabled may cause audio glitches in other applications (DVD soft, AVI/MPEG sof, even mp3s if they are long enough) so remember to switch it back on after play or if experiencing trouble.

You can use Standard Acceleration.. Just pull it one left.
Right klick on your Volume Icon in the Tray.
Then take "Adjust Audio Properties".
Then " Audio "
Then " Advanced "
Then " Performance "
Then take the Top line button and pull it Left Once. For Standard Acceleration.

ah, thanks i didn't realize i never even tried that..... when i was troubleshooting i just shut it off and tested then never bothered with further experimentation. thanks.
