hi I tried to play the demo a while back and it won't start because of a direct 3D error in my video adapter. it acts like it gonna load but then kicks me back into windows with a microsoft error. I have an intel 1.8 GHz processor, 640MB RAM, 64MB intel integrated video adapter. hmmm.... guess I have to buy a new computer to play this game.. dang...

Do you know what Intel chipset you have. If you have a chipset from around the 840-850 series, the graphics sucked. You would be better off buying a new video card in that case. Get a fairly current card and then you get all of the new features from DX9.0c available.

afraid that's the case..you would be doing yourself a favor anyway, intergrated video cards are always going to be worse then stand alone cards, because intergrated cards use up some of your ram for it's memory..when you get another card, and disable that one, you'll also be getting some freed up ram.

If you are on a tight budget, I really would seggest getting a FX5200 or a Radeon 9200 to run this game. Those cards will run around 40-60$ and I would highly recogmend getting the cards from www.newegg.com.

thanks to you all for helping me, but I know that I have to buy a totally new pc in order to run this game, because I don't have an AGP slot in my current pc. I only have a PCI slot. plus my computer sucks anyway. its a 2002 dell model lol. but it still sucks badly I got cheated out of a good computer. never buy from dell. they suck. in my opinion if your gonna get a new computer you'd be better of building one from scratch. thats what I'm planning on doing when I get enough money. but if I did have an AGP slot I'd be playing the demo by now. but oh well. hopefully in the future I can finally try out this game.

if you are going to build your own computer, then may i suggest not skimping on parts..you don't have to get everything at the best, best video card, most ram, and so on, but don't buy off brand, you'll only have problems. order your parts from places like www.newegg.com as was suggested, and you may also want to try www.zipzoomfly.com..they have some pretty good, and pretty cheap stuff..really cheap..you can get a good video card for way less then waht stores charge..in fact, you may want to do yourself a favor if you can, and get the best of everything, at least the most ram, best processor, and best video card you can..because otherwise you'll be needing to upgrade them for another game. sure you can save money with the cheaper cards, and they would probaby handle dl, but if you get a geforce 6800 or a cheaper but pratically the same geforce 6600 or a radeon 9800 you should be covered for all games now and in the future for some time to come..you're processor should be an AMD if you are building a mostly gaming machine, at least 2 ghrtz, and a gig of ram..but that's if you can make money not an issue..if you go look online, there are some websites taht will build the computer from scratch with the stuff you specify, unless you are really keen on doing it yourself, I suggest considering that.

i have built a few systems from scratch using new namebrand parts i ordered from ebay for next to nothing, including my current system. only problem with this is there is no single company you can call or hold responsible if something doesn't function after assembly.... i have never had this happen, but i always advice the people for whom i made the computers that I am the only troubleshooting they can get.... if you have a good knowledge base of hardware/settings/components, build your self from ebay. it works even better if you are patient, since better deals will be available from time to time. make sure the stuff is new and under warrenty, its all good.
