Can someone verify the validity of this review? No one else has it and the final game has not been released... seems fishy to me.

why don't you think the review is valid? it seems just as valid as any other review i've read..and it's just one more positive review from critics..
if you are worried that the review mentions areas that were not in the demo we got, that's because reviewers often get a larger more encompasing demo then we get.

I think the concern is about whether or not review copies have gone out ... and from my indirect contacts I have heard nothing to indicate that they have. Therefore, in the fine 'useless gaming media' tradition, they appear to be reviewing non-retail code, without representing it as such.
My basic opinion is that any review written based on pre-gold code is crap, pure and simple. Whether the 98% that PC gamer gave HL2 or this 70% or the hundreds of 90+ Doom3 'week of release' scores many people wish they could recant ...

The only thing I see is if you follow the link to buy online you will notice a 05/20/05 release date. DOH

Firstly, I'd like to state that I am a supporter of Dungeon Lords, not a doubter. Thusly, I'm not sure if you came off as defensive in a hostile fashion because you feel I'm doubting anyone would give this game a good review or what other reason you may have. Be that as it may, I doubt the validity of this review for a few reasons.
1.) While saying nice things, 70% is NOT a good review, however you look at it.
2.) I've never before heard of this site. Maybe I've been living in a bucket, but I doubt they would recieve first rights to a copy of this game to review.
3.) There aren't any new screenshots after the review was made. No new information at all, really.
If you can prove this is a valid, respectable review, please provide proof so that I may judge it's information at it's worth.

i wasn't beind defensive, i apologize for coming off that way. i just didn't know what you meant by not being valid, that's all. just looking for clarifications, and i got it. :)
I also want to point out that the may 20th release date was on what was probably a european website, it will probably release later outside the US, and that further more, that site with the review had a release date of april 22, but who knows how accurate their info is.
also, i thought most of the gripes were based on the fact that hardcore rpg people wouldn't like the things that the reviewer found wrong..but i am kinda tired right now so who knows.
I dunno, the reviewer seemed kinda lukewarm about the game and his writing style didn't grab me, it almost seemed like an amateur review.
Not only that but he didn't provide many details about the game; I almost get the impression he played for about an hour or so, thought "Yeah, that was okay" and then wrote his 3 page review on it.
Still, it is only the first of many to come, although quite frankly, I couldn't care less what any reviewer has to say about this game, I am getting it as soon as it hits the shelves and playing until my fingers bleed. I only hope there are slightly more positive and in-depth reviews from rabid RPG/DWB fans for Heuristic Park's sake. Guess we'll see.

They pulled the review from Game Rankings. Guess that means it wasn't a good one.

That was a mistake - and it has been removed. No review code has been sent to press yet.
Cheers.

With the release date being pushed back, I figured that any current reviews were inaccurate at best. lol

Bgaum, you guys should do the same with the current demo. Remove it since its not exactly going to help sales this close to release.

Heh,,not exactly one of my most graceful statements.
I just honestly believe most people who play a demo think it'll be a close if not identical representation of the final game. And I doubt many even bother to look at the games website to find out, like in this case, it won't be so.
