I am stuck at the wall of flames. Even with 150 health and 100 armor I can't survive a run through the flames. I am trying to reach the checkpoint which is on the adjacent fire escape. I have been up the fire escape to the third floor but can't jump up to the next level (the ladder is gone) and I can't jump across to the next fire escape where the checkpoint is located.

I hope this is not a "jump required" path because I suck at jumping.

...escape, by going up to the highest level you can, and jumping to the one with the checkpoint.

Try getting to a window ledge on the way to it, quicksave, then make the jump. This is often the easiest way, when you're having trouble.

Also, are you getting good playable frame rates, meaning is the game running slow and laggy in any spots? if so, try lowering your video settings as per the FAQ recommendations here, to see if it helps.

Some of the jumps in the game require good frame rates to make.

If you're new to PK jumping, or the momentum bunny hopping style it uses, you must get up momentum anyway you can, to help get far enough, and high enough to make it. You also need to be using mouse look upward as you're in the air, to help clear the gap.

You can also try starting from the far end of the fire escape, and hopping to get up speed/momentum, though it's abit cramped for space to use that method.

I've got this mental picture of some guy hopping along the balcony, missing his jump, tripping and falling flat on his face...

...was just getting up that first @#$%&* ladder going up to the fire escape from the ground level, without losing precious seconds.

It's obvious there's a few little things in that level they did just to put you through the save/reload syndrome in juicing the best time out of it.

Hey how you coming on the pics btw T'krau? Have you tried any since we chatted about it over at PPK?

...over the screens if you're having any trouble with it. It's pretty easy to get it sorted out via chat with something like that.;)

Geez, no pressure... :D

I haven't had a chance to check out Image Shack yet. I'm gonna look into it this weekend (I hope).

Been fairly busy myself, had the clutch slave cylinder go out in my car a week ago, after replacing the master cyclinder a few months ago. I was lucky to be able to drive home, shifting the last couple blocks with no clutch at all.

That's the price of buying a PC that's worth more than my car, sometimes it catches up to me a bit.:D
