its a idea only. it would be great that you start the games as a fighter and be able to change to a paladin a soldier or a multiclass character.it would add so much replay value to the games

i'm assuming you mean changing the class completely, i.e. while gaining the advancement point benefits of the new class.

not simply putting (more expensive) points into other skills/specialties?

decent idea, although easily abuseable in MP chars i would think? at least in terms of maxing skills for a role, then switching, maxing, switching, maxing...etc... then all you have is a bunch of copy cat ubers running around...

SP wise, I would do something along the lines of beign able to switch roles, but with either limits or penalties to the previous role? or maybe not? perhaps dependent on choice of difficulty, but then you'd have to make SP chars not importable to MP games, which i think some people want to make sure this game does.

overall a can of worms i think...

i think that in DL you will be able to add another class specialization as you level up..in fact I am sure of it..I've seen screenshots with two class symbols un class speicalizations in those empty boxes in the character sheet..so the pretty much have what you want in some form.

no i dont like that once you pick your class and race you shouldnt be able to change it.

thats why you gotta pic good ;)

im still thinking about what to do choose im pretty sick of the human class in games so i wanna be something cool and the only other thing i like really is vampires but they dont have any so i dont know what im gonna pick.

But wouldn't the ability to pick skills and spells from the other 'classes' kind of defeat the purpose of multi-classing later in the game? If I understood correctly what I've read about this game so far, is that it's almost a classless system, where you can choose your starting 'class' (which only means you'll get discounts on some of the skills) but every skill/spell IS availible to every class, although at a more expensive rate. That way, you could in theory create a healing assassin with a few magic missile type spells. Just an example.

There's class specialisations but there's not much of an indication as to what those will give your character. It might be cheaper cross-class skills or it might provide statistic benefits or something.
I doubt having them in the game is going to result in "cookie cutter" builds being dominant. There'll definitely be some of them (there always are) but hopefully the range of extra classes you can pick up will help people make some unique choices. :)

well i would think that if you choose another class specialization, that you would get discounts for skills associated with that class, as well as probalby bonuses maybe. for instance, if you started out as a basic fighter, and all the while you were taking some theif skills, if you later added the thief class or a thief class specialization, you would start getting discounts for thief skills, and you might get bonuses that a person starting out as a thief gets, but that's just a guess..there has to be some reason to take another class for sure, besides having another symbol under "class specializations"
