Opening Treasure Chests???

How on Earth do you open a treasure chest in the demo? The control scheme is a little frustrating in general - very non-intuitive.

When you select a treasure chest using the "shift" key it brings up a menu.

If you look closely you'll see a long bar with multiple mechanisms in it. Below that you'll see 1 to 3 squares with a single mechanism in each. Once you select the "disarm" button, there'll be a count down then red fills the bar from left to right. As the red moves across, you click on the squares only when the red is at the corresponding mechanism.

Pretty easy once you get it...

Heres a tip for opening the doors and chests.if you activate the slow motion just before picking a chest or door it makes it a whole lot easyer,more so then them handfull of lockpicks.

I hope they fix that in release it'd be annoying to have the whole world slowed down EVERY time some non-thief wants to pick a lock...

You do not have to fear with the Time trick.... its not like we will have 25 of everything to start with. And I bet a few Thiefs would use that trick too... cuz man Retail is a pain on the lowbie levels!

As for Treasure Chests lacking intuition... I beg the differ. I think this was a cool way to make those skills more hands on. It is a lot better than just clicking on them and hoping your roll is good enough to watch it pop open.

How do u activate slow motion?

You have to BUY then use that spell. In demo they came with beginning char and this discusion I believe began with demo... Now you have to get to twon first and BUY the spell. It is a celestrial spell.
