...a voice from the darkness.....

Hi!

Well, this isn't easy, but You'll get one of the best cards, after You do it! :)

You can use some of Your so far achived cards. For gold cards, Dexterity (weapons reload twice faster) and Rage (quad damage) or Fury (twice damage) can be great, or even the Haste (slows down the world) cards. You can also use Endurance, what halves the damage. For silver cards, You can add Forgiveness or Mercy, and Vitality (HP to 150) or Blessing (HP to 150), or Replenish (double ammo from ammo-boxes)...

You can maybe do it without cards too, but You must have tons of luck and You need to aim very good. The hard part is destroying his giant hammer, because it's not easy to aim that weapon. You can use the ChainGun for this, or You also can try the Shotgun, because that causes a higher damage, but in the case You use this, You must aim more precisely. When the hammer is done, I definitely recommend the Shotgun! This is the easy part: just blast away him ASAP, and that's all...

Try to be as quick and precise as You can, use a good card combination, and don't worry about the damages, so don't waste time with picking up the armors. You really don't need them, You just need sharply timed jumps: right when he strikes down, jump, and You won't get any hurt...

Good luck! :)

...levels you played in your current game, you will be limited some, but should still manage.

My rationale in such a case is to use Forgiveness and Blessing for the silvers, as you won't yet have Mercy, and using Blessing instead of wasting a gold spot on Endurance makes sense too I think.

This way you can devote time maximizing cards to the gold slots as well, being Dexterity, Double Haste, and Fury.

I feel this is the best card set available, if you only have those earned in prior levels.

There's another thing you must do to be effective though, Ruins boss is best fought by not letting him see you any more than you possibly can. The more he strikes his hammer, the more time his hammer is invulnerable, and obviously the more health risk. Try to make use of your cards immediately after doing a quick ammo pickup, then bunnyhop around a pillar out of his peripheral view if you can. The haste cards will help you do this before he might be able to see where you've gone.

Dexterity, Rage and Haste (or Double Time Bonus) as gold cards. And silver should be Mercy or Forgiveness and a card of your choice.

Then use the ChainGun or ShotGun on Thorīs hammer, then ShotGun or Rocket Launcher after getting rid of the hammer.

I killed him in 0:39 once, but it was really hard.

...you'd given some details on your available card selection, though I think it's good to note that It's not necessary to go back to Thor after accumulating cards beyond Ruins, especially if you're fighting him in Insomnia mode.

I think they did a good job of putting cards with just enough effectiveness in the levels prior to him, if you make good use of them.

Good luck with the battle, and let us know how it goes, and what cards you used.;)

if your meaning what cards i chose well i know the silver cards was the 1 where it gives u 150 health....the gold was the 1 where the world moved slower and the 1 where u get 10 extra seconds for the gold ones....i mean i defeated thor with no cards but it wasnt enough to get a new card....why do we have to defeat these bosses in a certain amount of time?....thats dumb...i think its cool just finding out a way to kill them....it felt good when i figured out how to kill him.....i hate being timed....but i guess its the reward to get the card cuz i guess they wanna make it a little tough

...you have all the cards, you've played thru at least once already, and have saved the cards you got previously? It appears you do not have the Ruins card though, and that's what this is all about.

This does makes sense, and probably happens to many, but it also means you can use better cards.

First, I forgot to ask you which patch version you're using, which makes a big difference when using Haste cards, as the later patches use it much more effectively.

The combination of Triple Haste, Rage, and Dexterity, really does damage fast, and the clock goes by much slower.

The ONLY reason I mentioned the other option (with Time Bonus) is in case you had trouble getting enough shotgun ammo, which is not as close by.

You should be able to beat him without running to the armor too, it really just gives him more of an oportunity to see you and strike his mallet in my opinion.

You're given time requirements because most people that play intense first person shooters want more than just casual gameplay that they will lose interest in after the first couple times thru, so they add a little spice to the action, if you know what I mean.

The payoff if you get him in under 1:20 is the Iron Will card, which makes you virtually invulnerable while it's employed.

Give it another shot this time using ALL your card slots. From what you're describing I'd say Blessing, Mercy silvers if you have them, and Dexterity, Rage, and Triple Haste golds, if you have those. As soon as the level starts, quicksave, and hit your card key. Don't forget to watch for the cards flashing to hit them again two more times as soon as they expire. Good luck, and beat the He11 out of him!;)

Note: I still maintain that my original suggestion is the best set of cards available prior to the Ruins level, keep that in mind once you get the knack of beating him down, then you won't have to go back to him after earning other cards.

...Tower. The Iron Will card is the card you get AFTER beating Thor, so I'm a bit confused about your first post of the last two you submitted.

Congrats though, because of the narrow time requirement, I still think Thor is the toughest. It's not easy keeping out of sight to avoid him striking his mallet either.

You'll really like that Iron Will card for fighting Alastor in Tower.;)

Used cards included, pretty much the same these guys suggested. You can replace single cards with others of course, still should be possible in much less than 1:20 (video = 0:08). Just stick to the way shown in the clip, maybe pick up some additional ammo boxes if you're unsure.
