I haven't seen any Chuck22 posts in 2 weeeks; the last one was April 14. I hope its because you've been working non-stop on the release ;) Just the same, I'm sure everyone would like to hear from you.

It may very well be that he is restricted in what he can or cannot say by both HP and DC, and between that and the fact that they are likely putting in ~16 hour days 7 days a week ...

I think DW Bradley beat him up because of what he did to his game. lol
What do you think DWB is doing? He is quite involved with the day-to-day programming and design. If anything, when you see something you don't like, blame DWB ... Chuk is just the messenger in that regard. (not that simple obviously, but think of it in terms of John Carmack ... no matter where someone on the id engine team is, they are *always* below Carmack)

I think what he is trying to say is that like john carmack cant do any wrong, Neither can DWB. Its allways the people under him that get the finger pointed at them and take the fall. That is why dwb canned chuk22. Chuk22 will be missed, he was my favorite dev that posted on this board.
In dedication to chuk22, I shall name my DL toon chunky23 in rememberance of all the great things chuk22 did for the community.
Thanks chuk22, this ones for you. ;)

So you're saying that DWB is responsible for the messy demo?
I actually blame DreamCatcher for the wrong-minded and poorly executed decision to push out the 'press demo' as a '*real* demo' ... like I said, given that it was already pretty old, even if they labelled it as a test demo, they would have gotten feedback, and been given some slack.
And hacknslash, that was *not* my point. I don't know anything indicating Chuk isn't at HP any more - if he's gone, you probably won't see this game until the fall or later, as it is a *really* small team. Nor did I mean that DWB could do no wrong, what I meant was that the creative lead is DWB, the technical lead is DWB, the vision is DWB, and on and on - it doesn't mean he does all the work, but the buck ultimately stops with him.
... in my understanding, anyway ...

whoa, I thought the winky face ( ;) ) thing would let you in on my secret. im a Professional BS'er. I have a degree in the manipulative arts from the school of hard knocks, and am now make a living as an unemployed lawyer hanging out at game forums telling people that the developers have been fired.
in other words, I was joking.
And TX, I know exactly what you were saying, I was just a little bored so I decided to scratch beneath the surface of your post and..... well you know. Here we are now. Sorry about that.
And in no way can they fire chuk22, the mans been a forum animal for the last month answering our questions and reading everything we post. I wish more companies would take the time to read and communicate with there fan base.
PS. I was just trying to lighten the mood around here, no harm intended.

Well, it sort of adds up. First of all, Chuk22 is no longer listed under the Members List and he hasn't posted in about 2 weeks according to his last post.
But ... I'm not on the member list ... and neither are you - you mean we *all* got canned?!?!? ;)
As for the two-week thing, prior to the flurry post demo, it had been *months* since we heard. So I wouldn't worry too much.

The only people listed in the member list are DC staff, moderators and Admins. If you'll recall, Chuk was none of the above.
His profile still lists him as Heuristic Park Art Director, he just hasn't been here since April 18th - as you can see here (http://dreamcatcherinteractive.com/forums/member.php?u=63970).
Either he's been busy or been told to put a cork in it. Given that the game has gone gold, I'd be betting the first one.

I would agree with Mythor... most likely Chuk22 mentioned something on the forums he was not suppose to mention... as a result was instructed to cease all communications via this forum. I seriously doubt he's been terminated since he's obviously a hard worker based on how active he was with the forum thus placing much work time into this game.
