I just reinstalled painkiller, updated all the patches upto v.1.64 and when i try to connect to an online server i get an error message everytime:
Unable to connect - invalid cd key xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
The main thing is, it doesn't display the cd key that i have input when installing and the cd key it displays is different everytime.
I looked through loads of threads and endless posts and couldnt find anything about this.
I am a regular online gamer, mostly the Counter Strike series, i do not hack, i do not download games illegally. I have searched for a fix, couldnt find any, reinstalled, reinstalled the patches, done nearly everything i can think of. I know my cd key is valid and that i purchased pk from a respectable company brand new about 4 months ago.
The only thing i can think of is the patches using cracked cd keys, but i cant see an official update doing so. Please somebody help me out, this is just stupid, that fact that there is most likely people who have illegally downloaded this game that are playing now and when a real customer tries, i get knowhere. I have never had a problem like this with any other game or company and i am highly dissapointed that the first game i buy assosiated with Dream Catcher is giving me these troubles.
