Well, it appears that even though the sites mention that they are shipping on the 4th, that most the stores are not going to have it on the shelves until tomorrow. =-(

Sad thing is, that I won't be home until reeeaaaalll late tomorrow to try it out. Today would have been perfect....but again, what has been perfect with this game? LOL

I was out picking up a book I ordered for my kids to give my wife for Mother's Day, so I checked the Gamestop in that area, as well as my local EBGames. The Gamestop guy was pretty clueless, but figured out eventually that he would have it tomorrow ... my friendly neighborhood EBGames guy knew what I wanted, but couldn't help me - they'll have it tomorrow as well.

So I hope to put my lunch hour into getting, installing, and starting the game ... and maybe dropping an impression or two ;)

Yep, same here with my EB and gamestop. I just figured since Typhoon and dreamcatcher all stated that it shipped on the 4th, that the stores would have had it today.

Well, guess I will have to drool all over the package until I am drooling on the keyboard.....

Well I ordered it from ebgames.com with overnight shipping. They are showing a ship date of 5/5. So I expect it tommorrow. Also, at some point today, they removed the ability to cancel my order, which usually signals its ready to ship.

I'm trying to restrain myself from ordering this from EBgames next day air :). Best Buy has in in their weekly ad for 34.99 and I get reward points from them so I'll see if they have it on shelvees tommorow. Crossing my fingers. I have been following this game for a while and am eager to play a fresh RPG.

I got mine today. From Best Buy too... about 2PM CST. I been in and out of playing it. I was hoping to get a word from someone about why there are no controls for the Options to change your Face/Color Hair Style/Color and to make your Right hand Primary weapon... even though these options are listed in the manuals.

As for the game... what I expected, other than the GUI is kinda screwy if you play in a different Res from 800x600.... game-play in other res are fine... just the menus do not adjust to new res sizes.
Oh and expect to go the Way of the Tortoise for Adventure Points! Retail really cut back... but that was expected. All in all... not too harsh... just makes starting out a tad stressful for the non warrior types.

95% done is quite good for games today, I would say most are 50% done when released.

Got mine today but won't be playing for quite some time. Stronghold 2 has my full gaming attention for awhile!

But I can't wait to dig into it...and hopefully by then all the people who just like to go on forums and complaing about games and 'how dare' developers have bugs in these unbelievably complex series of numerical equations will be gone!

Well heres the DL about SH2...when it comes to single player it's good. When it comes to MP it blows hardcore. You can't make AI join a game. You can't limit the number of people in a match(if you want 3vs3 on a 8 person map and 7 join ur screwed), you can't kick people from the wating room be4 a game, tons of disconnects when connecting to the game, and tons and tons of crappy coding which makes it super laggy in SP and MP. But hey other than this if you just want to do the campaign your all good. Bear in mind after you do this in 2 days it's a box of crap. Oh yeah one last thing too...it dosn't auto save, so if you don't save on the start of everymap and your game crashes or you just forget to save and exit out you can't resume where you left off last scenerio and you have to start all the way back at the beggining of the campaign.

thanks i hate games where you cant save where you want to.
i dont see any sence in doing that. I normally dont buy games that have save placers at certain pts. i just found out that BARDS TALE is the same but it has them oftern enough so when you die you dont have to go back 15-30 min of game time.
i also didnt buy prince of persia because of that...when will they learn, there lose ;)

just got game and in user's manual all it ses is

there are six items you can customize:

RACE: Change the Character's race and sex
CLASS: Change the Character's class
FACE: Change the Character's facial features
SKIN COLOR: Change the Character's skin color
HAIR STILE: Change the Character's hair color <-
HAIR COLOR: Change the Character's hair color <-

i did not see any thing about right handed all picturs in book are of left handed people

why have a HAIR STILE if its the same as color ? :(

Ok first of all, Hi everyone im new.

Now so far i seen some reviews about the game and i heard its a Pretty Good Game. The Graphics and sound isn't State of the art but its good enough. The gameplay is excellent.

Also, there is suppose to be two hand combat. A Right hand weapon. It says so in a review. It said that when you have 2 weapons, u can continue to click the left mouse to use both weapons instead of clicking left and right on the mouse. So Apparently if it isn't on there now, it should be soon.

But im not really concerned about it. I just want the game to be decent enough to play.

yes you can use two weapons i just tryed it today with the demo. I had a long sword in 1 hand and another sword in the other then you just left click on a monster and say byby. it looks kewl when you try different moves as well, i look like bruce lee in a kung fu movie :)

haha. I went to walmart yesterday to get one but they didn't have it. For some reason i had a feeling they wouldn't. It's like their behind on certain things. If not then it must be just the Walmarts in Florida lol.

To answer those who asked SH2 is absolutely fabulous..and the editor is amazing.

As for DL being unfinished? I wouldn't know, I wasn't privvy to what the finished product was supposed to be :) . But...I will say that HP is to be commended to quickly announce that a patch is coming. That's what Firefly did with SH2 and the patch was a huge help.

Folks, just remember, sometimes, sometimes, many times, there are deadlines that have to be met and publishers and the actual producers of the games have to come to a middle ground. With SH2 it was meet the deadline, a patch was released TWO DAYS after the game hit the shelves and another is on the way. That gets the games into the hands of the players, thus getting an influx of cash to the publishers. It's not perfect, and frankly I wish the publishers would just wait until the design teams say its ready...but I don't know what financial constraints publishers are under...nor how many extensions a design team has been given.

Either way, my mindset is to support any game as long as it is being actively supported by the team that made it and published it. If that were to stop, I'd certainly be upset!

Just my thoughts...now, back to SH2!

I am very VERY disappointed. I spend $40 on a game that was implied in the forums from the programmer(?) that many of the problems I saw with the demo were resolved and that I was going to see these fixes in the retail version. Ok I said I'll take a chance, I purchase a LOT of games and this one looked interesting. Well Electronics Boutique won't take it back unless I am willing to lose 1/2 the purchase price..$20 for checking out what was supposed to be a finished game. I will admit there seem to be some enhancements since the demo, like getting out of the water is way easier and now with the settings set to very easy I actually don't have to worry about mob spawns every few seconds but wheres the target indicator, wheres the map, wheres the features that were not implemented in the demo in the retail...Did I just pay $40 for a updated DEMO... I hope not and if I could return this software(junk) I most likely would but losing 1/2 the price for 1hrs use (or attempted use) just burns me. I will have to consider strongly whether I will recommend any products from Dreamcatcher ever again after seeing what they feel is a finished product. Now I can here some of you say well they are gonna update it..OK, find but updates and patches are for the small stuff that may slip through the crack during normal inhouse testing but are found after release. In my opinion (and I know it may only be my opinion) that this was not what I feel most in the gaming community will consider to be a finished product and the programmers/developers/distributor's will soon feel it in there financial pocketbooks with returns, cancellations and poor reviews of the product.

yeah, this game really needs a patch. The only thing that really makes me mad right now is the lack of a map. Some places are huge and without a map its frustrating running in circles looking for the right way to go. The other thing that doesnt effect game play but really ruins the multiplayer is the lack of customizing your toon. If all of us playing want to be the same race we all look a like which is reall annoying.

I think I would have been better off waiting to buy the game when a patch or 2 comes out and paid less for it. Well, time to put this unfinished game in the closet for a patch or two to come out.

Resolution fixes, anything over 800x600, the main menu doesnt stretch to the screen and when you start playing it works fine but the text sizes decrease with the higher resolution. makes it really hard to read diag boxes.

Character customization. Only the default models are available so if everyone is human, they all look the same.

No Map in game, very easy to get lost.

still has auto delete for duplicate inventory items. this really sucks for multiplayer. And the junk tab does nothing but take up space.

only left handed combat. Not really a big deal to me, but other peoples life's seem to depend on this feature.

Still no cross hair for targeting. This doesnt bother me either.

I only player for a few hours before getting lost and frustrated so I quit untill a patch fixes some of these things. So these are the only things that stand out to me as broken but there maybe more.

I can live with the others but this one is not cool. I was hoping to have this completly gone in the full version.

This should be one of the major changes in the patch.

oh yea, why is there no targeting system? Wasn't that one fo the changes made for the final version?

For one thing Vampire_X Chuck did not say that right handed combat was going to be available but he did say that he will look into it. If it were going to take a rewrite of combat system then I wouldn't change it either. I would like to see right handed combat also but if these small problems that people are having are causing so much dislike for the game then don’t play it. Your loss I guess.

Then click on the right side under:
(C) Character Page
(Creating a Character)

Then Scroll down till you see:
Setting Race, Class, and Appearance

Then Read. Odd what you find out when you read stuff huh...

If you have issues finding even this info..... here

Race: Change the character’s race and sex.

Class: Change the character’s class.

Handedness: Determine whether the character is right or left handed.

Skin Color: Change the character’s skin color.

Hair Style: Change the character’s hair color.

Hair Color: Change the character’s hair color.
