its hard but its a cool monster too....dont worry i know how to defeat it but i havent yet....just wondering if i should get help from cards...but i figured out if your gona go thru a lot of trouble collecting these cards u should get some use out of them....i know like on nightmare and trauma you need them but in order to defeat the big bosses you sometimes need an edge....how many of you guys use the cards in insomnia mode because thats what i play....i basically use em for the bosses anyway...ill need em especially for the last boss

i've always used cards for this "dark huge dude", regardless of difficulty. cards almost make it possible u know ;)
btw, frag has a nice way to defeat it. also seems to be the fastest solution!

well i hope frag wont mind me sharing his fav way with u http://dreamcatcherinteractive.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
basically, u just need to do alittle damage to any creature u can on those altars (also known as circles) to get the stone guy to go, but since u and the dude r the only actual creatures, u can also harm urself, so now its the matter of which gun right? use the flame thrower to do a little spark on ur feet while on the altar then hop around to the next altar, that way u'll soon be pimpin stone babes ! lol
so u might even wind up having some spare giants after beating alstor
oh btw, dont forget about the cards, if u wanna make it cooler...

...has been going through the PK game, not BOoH, as he was asking about Castle secrets and the Palace jump pad one too, so he's probably talking about Tower, not Shadowland.
I can give you exact specifics on Shadowland, if you own BooH complit. To tell you the truth though, BOoH is slightly harder, mainly in card objectives. I found playing through PK a few times until I got certain techniques down helped prepare me for BOoH much better. I continued playing PK for 2 or 3 weeks after buying BOoH, before even playing it. Part of it was due to the hit and miss patch success back then, and trying to figure out the best version to use, but it turned out to work in my favor I think.
The main thing about Tower I find is getting to the ammo, getting to the armor, and getting to the health stashes, especially the megahealth. It's also good to quicksave just before he smashes each floor, so if you don't hit your Endurance or Iron Will card soon enough, you can go back and reload.
Don't worry about using the cards, especially being new to the game and also if you are trying for the required time limit. You can always go back to it and try to improve upon your result later anyway. I've said before that I think the lower difficulty levels can be great just to get in your memory where everything is, and what strategy you plan to use, so using cards should be no big deal, just try to use the luxury of them to help you ease your way thru it enough so you'll notice things that are happening, and where stuff is better. That's what hones good gaming instincts, eventually you get to the point where you don't even have to stop and recollect, it'll just come natural.;)
BTW, if you end up needing help with Alastor in BOoH, just say "King Alastor" or the level name Shadowland, so people will know which one you mean. He even looks totally different in BOoH.

Yes you did. :p
...but my way of defeating Alastor was just use the Chaingun at the owest floor, activate cards and blast him away at the next floor, and at the bottom just shoot at him like mad and when he recharges shoot as many statues as you can.
I did it at the end, but itīs hard, specially on Trauma. Trauma was just...hard. :p
