First of all where the heck is the AutoMap. I'm pressing M and nothing happens. I love wondering around sewers aimlessly. Wow is this game buggy, it looks like they fixed very few things since the demo. Dreamcatcher shame on you!

How so? Please be specific.
As for the automap, theory is that you get a map in town. Let us know if that isn't the case.

The automap doesn't work in town, either -- VERY annoying. I think I may stop playing until a patch that resolves some of these issues comes out.

I think they mean you may have to purchase some sort of map or magickal artifact in town before the automap function is enabled...

I've been to every shop in town (as far as I can tell without, you know, looking at a map) and there don't appear to be any for sale.

I've been throughout the first and second cities, and no automap for me yet either. No option to buy or get one either.

lol.. well I guess that blows that theory out of the water. I would think it would be available, at the latest, by the second town (although most likely the first) if that was the case. So, I guess it's time to go "Old School" on this game and bust out the graph paper. I havnt done that since one of those phantasy star games on my old sega console. (Jesus am I getting *that* old). Anyways.. I kinda like the thought. I've forgotten what its like to play an RPG without some sort of ingame map system...

I think you should change the name of this topic to "Where's the automap?".
First of all, the consensus is that the automap is eventually obtainable.
Second, since when does a game 'require' an automap? And since when is the lack of one considered a bug?
Sheesh...

This response is not meant to sound bitter or anything like that, just a logical response to your question.
I would only consider the lack of a feature a bug if the developers claimed that feature should work. If they had not said there would be a map, it would not be a bug for it to not be there.
That said this may not in fact be a bug, nobody on this forum seems to know for certain yet. Hopefully there will be an update on this issue, either in the form of a patch or word that it's an item you have to buy in game to enable it. Though if it's an item to be purchased one would think the help at the beginning of the game that says M for map would have suggested that.

Oh since pretty much every RPG in the last 6 or 7 years? You may enjoy sitting there with graph paper. I do not! Releasing a game with a blatant bug like a lack of the AutoMap is beyond incompetent.

wow, i never thought of graph paper. I have been using a stationary note pad to draw my maps. The problem is I keep thinking that I have to turn up ahead and then I realize there is no turn and I just drew the line crooked.
but seriously, I would have thought that would have been one of the main things to add before releasing the game.

ya I think automap is needed for this game too. Btw, is it me or did they not fix crap that was in the demo? Looks like they changed font in intro, big step for them, but they didnt manage to put in customization of ur character, nor did they fix the alt+tab, or multiplayer bug. Oh ya, weird seeing the exact same NPC Model in the city. Is it me, or does it seem like this issue is based on lazyness?

Well, not sure if this is the answer or not, but.. on page 42 of the manual, under thief skills: "Scout: Skills in mapping and the ability to detect hidden buttons and switches." Maybe you have to train this skill to get the automap? Anyone have this skill yet?
