Hi all,
Man I thought this would have been fixed. The only music I hear is the title music. When you go into the actual game, there is no background music at all just sound effects.
Anyone have that as well?

I can hear the background music just fine. You should be able to fix it in the options when you start a game. If not, it's definitely a bug.

I have the music all the way up to 100%. I also tried at different numbers to see if it would kick the music in. How is the music anyway when you are in say the sewer level?

hmmm, I didnt even notice background music when i was playing. I just figured the only music in the game was that at the menu screen.

I don't get any in-game music either.

I know it might be a long shot, but how many of you have 5.1 speaker systems and how many of you have 2 speakers?
If people with 5.1 systems hear the music/sound/speech clearly but the people with 2 speakers don't then the game might have 5.1 sound enabled by default.
Just guessing here btw, but I think it's worth checking out.

The temp. fix to this was in another thread.
If you want, you can adjust your sound cards hardware acceleration to standard, not full.
That corrected all these issues for me.
P.S. LOVE THIS GAME, even in its current state.

I have an HP Pavillion laptop, no additional speakers other than what it came with.

I have a 5.1 speaker set. I will try the hardware slider to see if that fixes it.

I tried turning the hardware sound excelleration down, but I still didn't get any music. Just to be sure, for the folks that are getting music, where are you getting it? Everywhere? Just in certain locations?

I was one of the ones who wasn't getting sound and then I pulled the hardware accellerator donw a notch and now everything is fine.
I will say this when the game was mostly soundless I noticed no background music. But now that I hear NPCs taking, I can hear both a paserbys and my footsteps, and I can hear people grumbling as they walk past me. Now that I hear all that, I can't tell you right now if there was any background music. So maybe something was playing in the background. But the lack of background music was not noticeable at this point.

I'm having just the opposite problem. I hear the opening music, then get in game and everything's quiet. Then about 10-15 minutes later, the music kicks in and the game turns into a slideshow. Needless to say it's getting quite annoying and I'm still in the sewers. I tried changing the speaker settings from full to standard and all it accomplished was cutting down the time before the slideshow started.

There isn't any music. Look in the 'MUSIC' folder in the Dungeon Lords directory on your comp...the only music is the title music. Whether this is a mistake, I don't know. I suppose if things were really rushed, it could have missed the final build.
doesn't really bother me though. It's kind of creepy just hearing the ambient sounds...

Let's discuss the ambient sounds...what kind are you hearing? For example:
Opening scene near campfire - I hear all the NPC Messenger's dialog. I hear my footsteps. However, I hear NO ambient sounds other than the footsteps. No campfire, no wind, etc. Is that what you guys get too?
I do get combat sounds. In the sewers I hear water when walking around. Again, though...not much else.
Is this game really devoid of all ambient sounds? If so, that's extremely disappointing! Sound really helps the immersion factor.

There is no music aside from the title theme. The end, no need to discuss or argue this.
The ambient sounds, for the forest is usually bird sounds.

I do get a few ambient sounds in the starting forest and the sewers. Bird calls, wierd, undistinguishable calls, a couple of other things. But, definitely not a lot of ambient sound. No sound from the fire. :(

I have SB Live 5.1 DD sound and didn't hear ANY ambient sounds, exept hero footsteps and steps of NPC. Sword hits, pain yels i hear too, but not bird singin in forest at level 1 at all. Files in "sound" folder are fine, i can play them with WinCommander. Audio hardware acceleration slider didn't help. Maybe problem in XP Pro or my AMD64 Athlon. :) I will try run game on Win 98, maybe it helps.
I think it would be great to hear forest sound in forest. It's add athmosphire to game i think.
PS: About music. There is only one file in "music" folder, DL_Theme.mp3. I think i can put some Rammshtine mp3 songs in this folder and enjoy game. ;)
PSS: I think Dungeon Lords - nice game. Nice graphics, in forest espessialy. It looks like forest comparing to Gothic series.

Interesting...I have an AMD Athlon 64 as well. I have only heard the same sounds you mention Zilla. I don't hear birds either.
This really bugs me because there should be a LOT more ambient sound in the game. Dreamcatcher/HP has made such a big deal out of "realism", but it doesn't seem realistic at all without a fire crackling, no wind, no birds, etc. Frankly the lack of sound is just as bad as the bugs IMHO.
