When the menu screen pops up the portcullis takes probably 8 minutes to shut. Meaning I have to wait for eons before I can actually click on any of the options, then when I finally do it takes another epoch for the friggin thing to open again! When I finally get to the gameplay however it plays fine! Is anyone else having this problem? I have a pretty chronic computer, AMD 64 Bit 3200, Radeon 9800 XT, 1 Gig of ram and all the latest drivers, someone please help! When is this patch coming out?

My system is nearly identical to yours and I'm having no problems. What operating system are you running? What sound card? Any programs running in the background that may be interfering. Let me know, and I'll see if we can figure out a work around.

I'm running XP with a SoundBlaster, don't think I have any programs running in the background. I'm at a loss.

Strange that it would give you problems and not me, my system is exactly the same except my RAM. What setting do you have set up in the ATI control panel?
Under Direct3D:
AA?
AF?
Texture preference?
Mipmap quality?
Vertical Sync?
TruForm?
Overdrive?

I had the same problem with the DEMO. I fixed it by reducing my sound card acceleration to the bare minimum.
I had really hoped that this particular bug would be fixed in the retail release though.

AA, and AF are set application preference. Texture preference is at high quality, so is mipmap. VSync is application preference and Truform is always off. I am going to crank my sound card down but at this point I don't want to get into the game until I can change my guys appearence. This is going to go down as one of the most flawed releases ever in gaming. I'm really exited to play DL but this is rediculous.

Hey, I set my sound card acceleration to lowest and problem was solved! Thanks for the help. Of course, who wants to play a game with no sound acceleration? Another thing they need to fix is when you are running and you let go of the key, your guy keeps moving, it's very distracting. Anyone knoe when the patch is coming out?
