Just for fun while I am waiting for the patch(es) to come out, I decided to hex edit the sav file and discovered that you can go to AT LEAST 987 level! Is there a level cap or is this another bug?
When the game is fixed i plan on starting over and playing correctly. For now, I will just run around and play Death :)

Did you edit the level or the xp? I would be interested in knowing? Also have you discovered where your skill points are?
If so, could you give me the hex address for them?

The offsets probably change, but the format is 4 bytes intel,
the money - current exp - adv points are straight after each other.
Just convert your values to hex and search.
Kinda too cheesy way to cheat, savefile isnt encrypted :(

I've used various characters to map some of the save file and yes .. the offsets will change nearly everytime you load the file .. however .. the main block of character information stays intact. I have been using hex workshop and have found that if you search for you character name (select to find all instances) and then check for the instance that has a bunch of duplicate blocks soon after your name (ie 0023 0023 000a 000a 0014 0014 .... ya get the idea? hehe) then you have found the bulk of your info.
Now .. here's the offsets that I have verified to be correct (some secondary stats seem to be the result of calcs and cannot be changed directly).
STAT OFFSET
Exp 0xA5
Adv Points 0xA9
Strength 0x3B
Intelligence 0x3F
Dexterity 0x43
Agility 0x47
Vitality 0x4B
Honor 0x4F
Life 0x53
Strike 0x57
Damage 0x67
Speed
Parry 0x5B
Influence
Skill Name Offset
Light Weapons 0xF7
Medium Weapons 0xFF
Heavy Weapons 0x107
Light Pole 0x10F
Heavy Pole 0x117
Light Dual Weapons 0x11F
Medium Dual Weapons 0x127
Throwing 0x12F
Archery 0x137
Parry 0x13F
Light Armor 0x147
Medium Armor 0x14F
Heavy Armor 0x157
Light Shield 0x15F
Medium Shield 0x167
Heavy Shield 0x16F
Athletics 0x177
Scout 0x17F
Bargain 0x187
Repair 0x18F
Iron Will 0x197
Pick Locks 0x19F
Inspect 0x1A7
Disarm Traps 0x1AF
Sneak 0x1B7
Steal 0x1BF
Identify 0x1C7
Backstab 0x1CF
Arcane 0x1D7
Celestial 0x1DF
Nether 0x1E7
Rune 0x1EF
Magic Weaponry 0x1F7
Scribe 0x1FF
Channel 0x207
Alchemy 0x20F
Inflict Wounds 0x217
Crushing Blow 0x21F
Critical Strike 0x227
Hawkeye 0x22F
Spellfire 0x237
Drainlife 0x23F
If you're new to this stuff (like me) and arent sure about the offsets .. once you find your name at the start of the character info section, place your cursor at the left of the first letter and then use the goto command and go to the offset for the stat you want from your current location (not beggining or end of file). The number you want to change will be to the right of your cursor. For all stats (like str, agi etc ..) you will have double numbers like 00xx 00xx or xx00 xx00. Change the x's to the value you want.
I'm still looking for grid coordinates (so I can get my first character unstuck from behind the last door before the final battle and finish the game) and some other offsets .. but hopefully this serves as a decent starter for ya guys :)

well, i just used the trainer i dl/d'd from megagames, com for the updated patch. run it and then load game. hit a key, it tells you which ones, and you can jack your points up off the planet, and your skills well, lets say mine are all well above 500 on each.
the answer is yes there is a cap. after about 30 points to skills it dont matter anymore. i like the game, but the darn thing has more holes than M$.

That's odd... I went to megagames.com and they didn't have a trainer for Dungeon Lords.

I'm a little odd about stuff like that though .. I don't particularly care for trainers. The worst part of most games like this are the first 10 levels or so.. you can only go through them so many times without getting bored .. so I prefer to use character editors to get em off the ground and then run em through from there. Problem is there are no editors available for the game yet.. which is why I posted the info I had .. for those that want to get through the low end quick and to the good stuff while still being killable for the challenge.
I may be attempting to make my own editor in the near future .. but Im not sure .. I've never done it before so its hard to say if I would even succeed lol.

Please take note, if you use a trainer, it could affect the game files and you may have to start over again, I know of people this has happened to, after progressing through the game quite a bit.
