ThePact,
Here is what I have found so far on the game.
http://www.prey.com/
This is just a teaser site. Only the opening page.
This all that 2K Games, 3d Realms and HumanHeads are allowing to be seen.
The June 2005 issue of PC Gamer has an exclusive on the story. 7 pages of info and screenies. It was worth picking up the mag for it.

You do know that Prey is using the d3 engine...
I've learned a whole lot about this... They say there's actualy going to be "portals", and destructible environments.
Portals meaning... Similar to this:
You have a doorway that you can walk around, one side of the door has a picture of a room, and the other side is black. You walk into the other side, and nothing happens, you shoot the portal side, and you see bullets hitting the wall inside the room. You walk in, and you're in this whole new area, and it's like snap, no loading screen, nothing. You're there.
Destructible environments though meaning...
If you shoot a wooden support, and the support is holding up the ceiling, and it breaks, the whole support and ceiling will crumble down.
I really have my hopes up for this game.

I"m not getting my hopes up as I did that the first time around LOL
They promised the portals, the destructible environments... this that, and quake killer all in one game...
Much like DNF, I'll believe it when I actually get to buy the game and install it.

Didn't Serious Sam have portals that let you see into the other area before you went in?
Looks like a cool game.

I'll be dead honest, the whole portals thing is brand new to me, and I've never played SS before :(

I think their portal system was different. Doubt I still have the old 199x issue with the original Prey in it... but instead of like Q3/PK/SS portals that just teleport you to a certain area in the map, I think Prey's portals were more level to level.
Not sure if I got it right even as it's been so long...
Wait, I found an old gamespot article on Prey from 1997:

Yes, I watched the gameplay trailer from E3 a few times for Prey. This looks to be a very awesome game. The playing with gravity as we know it will add a fun and intereseting element to this.
