Fargrove is closed, wtf?

I just got an egg from the dragon grounds west of arindale. I've done the arindale trials and fathian's ulm quest and returned the argalia. I went north, got a moonstone and placed the first relic in talendor. I then activated the moongate in arindale. So I'm going back to fargrove to wrap up the house of the dragon quest but I can't enter fargrove. It's closed under alcutta's orders. How do I get in or what do I have to do to get in?

ya, WTF is up with this? i just delivered the relic to the dead guy, and he tells me to go to fargrove. I get there and its STILL F'ING CLOSED. WTF?
is this a game stopping bug or did i just miss something?

No idea; I haven't even gotten that far. I wonder, though, if you can get in again the same way you got in the first time ...

To do that one would have to go 'mountain climbing' since the starting area is the isolated area north of fargrove.

I believe it is closed until you finish the Ulm quest.. I just got back in.. but the guards attacked.

I've been wondering what triggers the closing of the Fargrove gates. My kids and I had this happen to us but haven't a clue why. Don't think any of us started any Ulm quests and none of us have any outstanding quests in the Arindale area, so not sure that is what triggered it.

ive finished ulm and fargrove is still closed. Im starting to think its a game stopping bug. ill do a few more things first, but if fargrove is still im screwed.

haven't tried to go back, but isn't the main quest when you leave is to find the daughter? did you go to..... can't recall the name.... above the marsh... some fields and ask them where the daughter is since she was headed there?

Fargrove Re-Opens after you speak with Erimmidor (SP) in the Elven City of Arindor. He will tell you of a Celestial Seer that had left the order to study the stars. After a lot of Blah Blah... and Relic stuff before the Seer you can leave Erimmidor.

I travelled to Fargrove then and the gates were open. You have to battle traitors and Captain 'whatever' - so head right to Lord Davemores Manor. Be ready for a fight.

After REMEMBER to 1. visit the Moongate in Fargrove. 2. visit the inn for the Quest to find the Lords missing/arrested son.

In order to get back into Fargrove you have to take the horn to Emmidude, then go to the castle ruins. The recording in the horn will tell you to seek out the daughter, but you have to go back to Emmindor for a second time. I had trouble getting up the lift, but eventually did. After the second conversation with Emmindor you can re-enter Fargrove and the guards will tell you that the captain wants to see you.

I have made many trips back to fargrove. Then i went to get the moonstone from Lost Lake. After getting the moonstone i went to activate Arindale's moonbridge then off to Fargrove. When i arrived to the gates they were locked. So, i think it was triggered from the moonstone. I saved before i activated Arindale's Moonbridge, so i am gonna run to Fargrove (activate its moonbridge) before i activate Arindales. Be back in a little bit to let you know whats up with that. Peace.

Still locked down. Mind you, i went to fargrove to stock up on potions before i went to lost lake to get the moonstone. After i got moonstone then they locked. I belive it is the moonstone that triggers it. I could be wrong. But i am just going on facts. The gates were open when i went to restock potions, then i went to get moonstone, came back and they were closed. I dunno.

I am thinking this occurs when you attempt/succeed in getting a moonstone as this happened to me right after I traveled to the lost lake. Let me know if anyone figures this out.

On a side note, I couldn't find a stone. I rushed through the area do to work being on the horizon, but I am thinking if you find a stone and can activate the moongates, you can use the moongate to enter fargrove.


Is the moonstone lying on the ground?
I found an altar of sorts but it required something I did not have.

The gates remain closed because you haven't completed a side quest probably. Try the following or double check:
Complete the House of Fathien (ulm) quest, go back in Arindale and give the argalia back (hall of lords),
go and talk with the girl in the inn,
go and talk with the girl in apothecary,
go and talk with the guy in dojo, use the magic mirror at Emmindor's tower. Go to Talendor (in between you can do the egg quest, the moon stone whatever you have) and use the ring, place the horn and talk to the mage
go back to arindale and into the Emmindor's tower,
go to bolen feilds and talk with Lord something
go to fargrove, the guards outside will attack but after you will be able to go in.

getting back into fargrove, basically is allowed after going to Emmindor a second time after going to Talendor.

Moonstone is recommeded for later down the road basically less travel

Moonstones have nothing to do with it. I don't know exactly what triggers it, but I know how to get back in.

You are sent to Arindale with the horn to speak with Emmindor
In Arindale you find that he is sealed in his tower
Only the Elf Lord can tell you how to get into the tower
Elf Lord won't grant you an audience
Speak to guy in the House of tiger, accept quest
Talk to girl upstairs at the Inn
Talk to woman at the apothicary (note: by lots of health before advancing the quest)
Go back to Elf Lord with news about his precious armor
Pass Trial of Elders
Go to Fathien Stronghold at Ulm
Spend hours looking for the damned armor
Go back to Elf Lord
Talk to Emmindor
Go to Castle Ruins
Go back and talk to Emmindor again
Viola! Fargrove is open

I did all that...and to add something of a side note...fargrove was open to me as recent as Ulm. After I placed the horn and talked to Emmindor again, did I find out that fargrove was closed to me.

Ok, I found the problem...

When I was in chat with Emmindor for the second time there was a text option in which I wasn't opted to access. This was because when Emmindor was done ranting about the relics, he eliminated any option to speak to him. I forced the other dialogue option by some keyboard+ clicking skills during his relic speech, which activated fargrove's opening.


Great game but really annoying sometimes!
