View Full Version : Game doesnt load? :(

Hi there, just installed the game fine, and there's now a shortcut on my desktop. Thing is, when i double click it to run it, a black box flickers on my screen for a split second and then nothing. A quick check of my running processes shows that the game's not even running. :(
I've got a 1.4ghz laptop with 384mb ram, and a KM400 onboard graphics card. Latest gfx drivers, latest version of directX, win Xp SP2. Runs all my other games fine.
It seems there's no configuration utility I can use to change any of the video settings without running the game.
Anyone else experienced this? :(

your graphics card on the laptop is probably not supported. Youll probably need a laptop with a x600 graphics card on ati mobility radeon in that manner but why via?

having same problem on my HP desktop computer. just bought it new a month ago. any help would be appriciated

Why via? Because it came with my laptop, that's why. It supports the latest directX and opengl drivers, so I don't see why the game doesn't run, unless it's sloppy coding. It seems a lot of people are having this problem, and the game doesnt even generate error logs to look at. Great.

So, can someone fully explain why there were two disc 2s? Do I need to load one or the other? I'm SO confused.... Thanks for the help guys!

For now the sort of vid cards you can use is limited as this game by default uses all sorts of Pixel shaders and shadows. Hopefully eventually they will make some of these options.

Laptops are not really for games its a bit hit and miss im afraid :(

elen: return defective product there are suppossed to be three discs not 2 disk twos.

I'm sorry I should have said also that I got four discs total. 1, 2, and 3, and an extra disc 2. I read another guys post that said the disc 2s are different. That they install different features....

Sorry to tell you, but your ram is to low, xp really needs 512 ram to get the most out of it, and the game ask for 512 ram also...good luck :)

most companies won't officially support laptop graphics or built in (to motherboard) solutions on desktops, or they'll state that it wasn't tested on anythign but the ATI/NVIDIA line, more often then not everything works fine, however not always...
this is more often true when dealing with more 'proprietary' graphics engines like in DL.
not helping you any i know... hopefully the patch will help, since it'll have some graphics related fixes in it...
