If myself and a friend wanted to mainly play online to travel the DL world and dungeon crawl, would this theory of how MP works, work?

1) My friend and I have a character that we "only" use for multiplayer
2) same person host the game every time
3) when starting the game, as long as both people select that "multiplayer" character, they can continue where they left off (place and level)....especially if it is just dungeon crawling and not quest completing as I see that there is a bug that two people can't complete a quest??

Would this work???

Yes, you can save and continue where you both leave off at a later time. If you both get the same quest and read all the text from the NPC, you can both complete the quest. Now there are some quests that are class specific, so only that class can complete them or even get them. For instance, if you join the fighters guild but your friend doesnt or isnt a fighter, then only you will get and can do the quest.

There are other posts here that state how to load your saved characters.

Hope this helps.

dont forget there is a massive host of bugs that will likely ruin you multiplayer games.

the nice "teleport the joining character away and spin his screen forever" is a good one, another makes some class quests uncompleteably if both players are taking the same classes, and the "joining character can't move or take any action but can watch the host running around/chatting" is also fun.

needless to say, there are more. but these are the greatest ones.
