got this from bargain with demon. vartugg isnt home in skuldoon. any idea what to do with this?

Where did you get it? There is a demon that you have to get something from in the trickster quest. A quest no one has solved yet.

the demon (vortuss or something like that) lies inside the temple in a sarcophagus. you have to solve a puzzle or 2 to get to him. when you do, you have to "bargain" with him by correctly stating a permutation of 5 hells. it looks to randomize every time you try it so saving and reloading wont allow you to answer him unscathed (unless you are in the < 1% lucky ******* group). i just tried to minimize the attribute damage by reloading until i was lucky enough.
once you finish the "bargain", you get the eye of vartugg (sp).
i go back to vartugg in skuldoon and he is not home. :(

The trickster quest is in the tomb of souls. But I think the demon is named Arula from the posts I read. Funny that this sounds like it fits the description of the trickster quest. The quest states you have to get an item from a demon who is unkillable. The quest was also given in Skuldoon by Vartuug.
Seems a strange coincidence.
Maybe they mixed them up since no one can figure out how to bargain with the trickster demon. I am about to try that quest, but am leary of traveling all the way out there to try to finish a broken quest. I guess it is worth taking a look.

What you get from Arula is a demon crystal (but I can't find it in my inventory). All you need to do to defeat Arula is summon a crap load of stuff. I summoned wave after wave of undead and finally it went down.

He is not home for me either so I guess I'll continue with the Shadow Land quest. As to the Eye, I didnt' bother bargaining (I hate those types of puzzles), I just attacked the SOB and after a long protracted battle with him and his minions, I removed the eye from his grasp while his life faded. Not a battle I really want to do over.

vartugg doesnt show up again until you have the naga, shadow, and druid relics

In oreder for you to talk again with Vartugg, in Skuldoon, you have to go to TAlendor, use the ring in the temple, place the reliques you have collected so far and then go back to Skuldoon. He will be there. Trust me, I finished the game already! cheers

yeah place you robes of regen, the Shield and the staff @ Talendor, and head back to pimp daddy vartugg with his eye and he will give you the secret to get past the rocks in south east swamps

Killed the Demon, quite easy battle if you've kept the relic Shield hehe... dont really wanna let go of it as the spell reflect on it is great.
If you dont have the shield I would still recommend attacking him and then run back to the entrance of the room. He's pretty easy to beat imho. (you get to kill another Greater Demon to get "Demon Steel" or "Demon Spell".
we've placed all the relics in talendor besides the one ellowen has and gotten the eye but vartugg is still not there.
