Hi,

Just got my Pre-Order. Major problems.

PC: Intel 3.2GHZ, 2GB RAM Intel 915
ATI X700 256MB RAM
On-Board High Definition Audio
All drivers WHQL Certified, Latest DirectX 9.0C All DirectX tests pass.
2 Serial ATA 200GB drives.

Load game, play for 1 minute or less - BAM - PC reboots. Every time.
Generic Microsoft "PC has recovered from serious error" message.
(Sometime sound stutters - then lock-up)

ALL other DirectX games play with absolutely no problem.

I want to keep it, please help before my return priviledge expires.

Thank You

Hi,

Set advanced audio options to DirectX only, got much further. Will continue testing.

Thank You

You may want to invest in a Soundblaster card and disable the onboard audio. I have not seen an onboard audio that didn't have problems 40% of the time.

You also want to check your BIOS settings just to make sure something isn't set weird.

those random reboots are almost always driver problems...try a different set of catalyst, or even the omega drivers.

I get those too, but not playing this game.

I thought my power supply was dying but its some device driver.
i have a feeling its radeon or directx 9.0c related.

Hi,

Thank You for your replies.

The simple change to advanced sound setting did it. It's a Microsoft "feature".
Now, happily lost in the sewers.

BTW,
I dumped both Creative Audigy 2 cards, due to other issues. These Intel boards process Dolby Digital on the fly, and are incredible!

Running Cat 5.4, and have'nt had any vid problems since CAt 5.1.

Thanx

This game has POTENTIAL! :)
