Fargrove West Gate Closed

I have talked to everyone I can inside Fargrove and have been given permission to leave by Davenmor. The first time I tried to leave Fargrove by the West Gate, I: opened the inner gate, waited for it to load, then was outside to watch the outer gate start to raise. Halfway through I find myself at the location at the beginning where the secret entrance is revealed and you have to pull the lever to open the gate leading down to the sewers.

After finding my way back to the city, I tried to exit via the West Gate again, but the outer gate is closed. After giving up trying to leave that way I tried the South Gate. No problems there, but I have to go to Arindale. I've tried to circle around Fargrove to reach the West Gate from the outside, but I don't think the maps work that way.

This is my main problem right now, but here are some other annoyances:

1. Can't change appearance on character creation.
2. Save games look like they are supposed to have pictures to the left of them, but intead are blank spaces.
3. Not enough save game slots (should be unlimited).
4. In the Celestial Mauseleum in Fargrove, I got stuck behind a coffin lid after opening it and had to reload my game.
5. When getting enough experience to level up, there is no notification, so you constantly have to keep checking your character profile.

Somebody check this West Gate thing out and find me a solution before I kill somebody.

The blue bar under your red HP bar is your % to level up. I don't know why this is, I guess they felt all RPG like games had to have a red bar and a blue bar.

I've confirmed the West Gate problem by reverting to an earlier saved game. Every time I try to exit Fargrove via the West Gate the same thing happens.

I see the outer gate start to rise, but it only goes up a little bit and then the game loads me in to the secret entrance at the beginning, where that gate is closed, too.

I have already applied the patch that just came out today, but that didn't help.

Anyone, anyone? Bueller, Bueller?

Wierd problem. I have been in and out of the west gate. No problem. Now from what I read I will soon be locked out of Fargrove but that has yet to happen.

When I first left Fargrove I exited out the south gate and went east. I had a ton of adventrues but it did not take me to the north. According to the paper map if you exit out the south gate and go in a North West direction, you should hit the road leading to the West Gate.

I've already tried walking around Fargrove, but I get disoriented and end up back at the south gate. The automap feature would help alot there.
