I started an Elven mage specialized for Arcane magic (1-1 points to light armor/shield/weapon). I can't find books or scrolls as many as in the demo and so it's VERY hard to get through the Troll in the Theatre. I have only 3 shots of Shrinking Star(but it doesen't work since the patch); 2 Magic Missles and 3 Freezing Strike (jeah,I can hardly hit him and the effect is nothing). I have some scrolls(about 10) but it worths nothing.
In Fargrove I could buy new spellbooks for 4-5000 gold(It's a bit too expensive for a lvl3 or 4 spell).
Oh, and what's with the automap? Where can I find a Moon Stone? In Arindale the guard said I have to wait till tomorrow to meet with the wizard, but I can't find any fireplaces to rest (there isn't fire in the fireplace).

hello brother mage,
i had a long fight against the troll in the theater too.
i just smashed him with a staff from a goblin mage. i almost never use he magic in this game although i spend almost every skill points into arcane magic and intellect. it just takes too long to recover. i hope now for a patch which make the mage a little bit more powerful. i'm in the elven trial but i cant see a way how to manage the last part with an mage. therefore i stopped playing this game.........
p.s. i can join you in multiplayer and we blast the **** out of this f*cking troll :D

I am also a mage, and ran out of magic immediately when fighting in the theater. I ended up getting up on the stage and shooting it with arrows until he died. I picked up the bow from a goblin somewhere along the way. It comes in handy, even if it is a cheap way out. It just takes way too long for magic to come back after using it. I tried too many times to beat it with my staff to no avail. I suggest a bow if you are frustrated.

Note that when you kill golblins they ONLY drop the equip they are using to attack. So to get bow early on hit them from distance or do a hit run so they stay using bow...

Well,I'm not a fool and I realised that using a bow or throwing knives/shurikens is safer than a meele weapon. BUT if I begin a mage character I want to kill the enemies (small or huge) with magic. It would be the normal, isn't it? And this is why I beg to the developers to change on the amount of scrolls or finding spellbooks or something...PLEASE
