There's also the thought that you can learn a little something about others by what music they listen to, even if you're not personally familiar with that song; for example, I've learned that Roachy's into the Pixies, and I think that CH rather prefers country/western; Maiden seems to be fond of Iron Maiden (THERE'S a surprise... :D ).
