shadow ruins stuck inside help

i am inside the shadow ruins and finally got into a room with 3 athena statues and only one shadow portal, if i take it i am transported to the place with flying islands, if i find the portal out of the islands i am transported again to the same room with the 3 athena statues, can't do anything there!?

there are other 3 shadow portals but none are available yet, also i have one of those blue crystals but can't use it on the statues, did i missed something and now I am stuck in nowhere????

you should found in a chest a shadow stone, which you will need to put them on the athena statues. The chests, you will found them on the islands where you are teleported. you have to proceed samewise with all 3 athena statues...

The statues don't show "item required", and I have only found one chest on the islands, and that hasn't helped. Are the teleporters random? How do you navigate the islands? Puzzled. Thanks in advance for any help.

Each statue you kill, opens a new shadow portal, which has a new chest... if you walk through an old portal, you will find an old opened chest.

ARGH!! It's possible at one point in this dungeon to have 2 stones at once, use them both, and then can't get 1 back. You'll have effectively locked yourself out of completing the dungeon. I found this the hard way!!

Can you be more specific as to how this happened, maybe I or someone else can help you get through this

I seem to have the same problem. Am in the room with the three athena statues and one shadow gate. Going through it I get to the Isles but, no chests, eventually I alwasy end up back in the room with the three athena statues.

Help anyone?

Just keep hopping thru the portals on the islands until you find the one with the chest in it, obviously don't use the exit portal until you have found the chest. Found this particular dungeon to be a bit of a bind since I couln't ee any discernable pattern to follow still...once you have found it grab the crystal awaken the next guardian, rinse and repeat.

Thanks solved it now. The problem is that you can actually exit the Islands without finding the shadow crystal.

Got my second rune now.

When you go through the shadow gate and then find your way through the islands to the portal DON'T go through it. Turn around and go through the shadow gate and there will be a chest -open it for the stone. Then find the portal again and go through, place the stone and fight the guardian which opens another shadow gate- repeat until all 3 are dead and you have the final gate:)
