Can you pass onto HP the request to release the tools necessary for creating add-on's, mods, and plug-ins as was done with games such as Neverwinter nights, Morrowind...ect.
I can't swear, but I thought that it was a question asked to D.W. Bradley in one of his gamesite interviews about the release of the tools...and was responded as that it will be a big possibility sometime after its release....
just a suggestion if people want to get the stuff fixed, added, and even further expanded on.

Does anybody else feel this way?

Of course we do! But the chances of them releasing MOD tools so early are slim to none I'm afraid.
Perhaps in the future?

"a big possibility sometime after its release" does not mean ASAP after release, nor does "possiblity" = "guarantee".
Chances are in our favor that they WILL relese some kind of tools down the road, but I honestly don't see it happening in the next few weeks or anything, or at least not before this 1.2 patch.
I would like to see it happen, but right now i don't care as i'm still enjoying the game.
and quite frankly, by the time i'm done with the SP, i'll be enjoying some other game, so won't care then either. but nonetheless, i hope they release some tools eventually for the modders out there.

Does anyone know how easy or difficult modding would be with this game? It was ridiculously simple with NWN and Morrowind, but I believe they both included modding stuff with the original game. I know modding is much more difficult with some games and requires strong programming skills if a modding interface (ala Morrowind) isn't included. I don't know that much about it, but I did a few small Morrowind mods and was just curious to know if it might be that easy.

I kinda doubt we will ever get any tools like this.
The game structure is kind of.... messy.
Personally i dont wanna be a game (mod) designer anyways. If i did i'd be working at HP or something already. And prolly really hate actually playing after a short while.

Well, there is enough people out there that do enjoy that type of stuff as you can see when visiting all the NWN and Elder Scroll sites that are 50% about player created mods.
I believe with those type of people that are interested in the game, would create this game to be an incredible game if they were released....honestly, I beat we would even see fixes to most of our problems sooner than you would from the devs.....

If someone who's code-savvy can figure out how the .dat files in the main directory are encrypted, we could extract and fiddle around with the meat of the data I think.
From the directory breakdown, it looks like all the models graphics and sounds are in their own folders, the only thing left would be the game rules. I imagine it would be nice to fiddle with item and monster stats, then play with the shops and make them sell what you want.
Just a thought. :)

Releasing Dev Tools Would be a very, very Smart move on their part. . It ensures the game will live On (and so will Sales) for years after release.

I support this one.
I would personally add quite a few things to this game.
Also they should try to release the sourcecode for the game for the purpose of fixing the game engine for those who would want to do that.
