ok i am very sure DS2 will score higher than DL by 20-30 points but I had a look at their official website and all i can say is "not too impressed at all"
monsters and characters are few but hopefully they are hiding the rest of them to suprise us in game.

also sadly, they are even going to use the same game engine with a few updates as they used in DS1. I don't know why, even the new Age of Empires game engine looks much better. :(

and you can only control 6 not 8 ppl. But at least that was a fun part of the game imo, choosing who can join your party. DL is missing that.


and what i did not like in DS is that even with max zoom the chracters looked small and the polygon count was small. I was hoping DS2 would improve greatly on this but from the pics of DS2 the clothes and armour still looked painted on not 3d.

i don't agree

they both are not crpg but hack and slash. i personally find ds much more enjoying - fighting is much funnier. besides i like rules of ds, they are very clear - u use something, u are becoming better at it.

plot aspects in both games are very shallow - few quests, all about killing:)

Its not because of hack aand slay. I like such games but DS was even for just a Hack and slay Game worse.


Crap Items, allways only 1 way to go,shitty balancing,no Story at all,fights mostly much to easy -party fight even allone lol

I disagree. DS is about one of the best LAN games you can play with your buddies if you all start at the same time.

I am a Fileplanet subscriber and started the Dungeon Siege 2 beta a few days ago and the game is going to be even better than the first, from what I've played so far. I have no idea why anyone would say they hate that game unless it's just too complicated for them to play or hate that type of action/RPG altogether. It's certainly a lot better than Diablo and you can even buff yourself up with spells before you go adventuring. I really like it and, as I said a week ago, I'm picky about the games I play.

If you dumped all over DS1 and didn't like it then chances are you are going to dump all over DS2. Regardless, it will still be one of the best games of the year of its type.

That is a widely held thought that your role in the game was pretty minor - you'd move your party, then press a couple of buttons now and then to heal, while they took care of the battle themselves. To me it never felt immersive or engaging ... I played for a while until I realized I was forcing myself ... got pretty far but not done. Certainly got the $5 worth I paid Best Buy for my Mac version ;)

Yeh DS was VERY shallow VERY linear,And the monsters where horrid didnt like the graphic style at all, no plot, no story, no real character development,not my idea of an rpg at all.Its a shoot emup without guns and without having to pull the trigger. :eek:

At least Dungeon Seige worked as advertised, even if it was hack n' slash. I'd rather see a Diablo 3 than a Dungeon Seige 2, though.

Well, we know that we *are* getting a DS2, whereas instead of Diablo 3 we are getting Hellgate. At least for now.

i didn't like dungeon seige 1 when i played it multiplayer i was getting so bored
no real character development at all, long levels with nothing going on
but i have to say dungeon seige 2 so far is great, its basically diablo3, anyone who liked diablo2 should have signed up for the public beta

i im really looking forward to its release and the good thing is multiplayer works great, even in beta form its far less buggy than dungeon lords

Ive just downloaded the beta and to say its **** poor is an understatement and it smacks CONSOLE ffs. If I wanted a console game Id own a console not a PC. Its ruined...........

DS is pretty much a Microsoft attempt at copying Diablo for sure. It isnt bad on an LAN with a bunch of friends but I played multi online and with the follow feature you could literally leave the house, go get some beer come back and be like 5 levels higher. That in my opinion is the worst feature I have ever seen, bar none. At least Diablo was and is a "closed server" which cuts down on the broken characters to some extent (until people figured out the code and then all **** broke loose). But the follow feature and as Mike pointed out the lack of involvement even on a single player level sucks. And I bought the game. And Legends of Aranna in some sick demented fit of cRPG addiction that couldnt be fullfilled. :)
