Am I completely stuck?

[Hopelessly Lost]

I'm trying to get to the forbidden lands... Can't find Mara, and neither The lord in Bolen Fields, or the girl in the Inn have anything new to say to me. The only thing that I can think of, is that when I killed the shopkeepers husband in Arindale, it didn't change anything with her. I still found and returned her son to her, but she never said anything about me killing her husband. Am I completely screwed?

Just checked back with the shopkeeper, and she still speaks of her husband as being "Ill". I'm getting the feeling I'm hosed.
