View Full Version : problem on loading MP save... ...
I have a problem when loading the game.
I start a LAN game with my friend,
we saved the game, and we have no problem when loading the save when both of us didn't quit Dungeon Lords.
After we restarted Dungeon Lords, we start LAN game again. however I found that only I can enter the game after I loaded the save, my friend can't enter.
how can I solve this problem?

We never use LAN to play LAN.
We use Internet then Direct IP so you can CHOOSE "Safe, no player damage."
Maybe you should try Internet , Direct IP instead of LAN... You have a few more choices there... Its easier because you see your characters Saved on the right....
You can STILL load ANY saved game in the Internet , Direct IP so you should see the names on the right...
Hope this helps some what..

You can select Safe Damage just fine with LAN, if you have the patch installed. Only Host needs to set it to Safe Damage. Works fine. No damage to party members.

Ok this is a little complex so I'll try to explain it as best as I can.
PC1 Host -Character 1=C1
PC2 join the game - Character 2=C2
YOu get X far and save it...for some reason you screw up or quest is bugged and you both want to start over with same charcers.
The person who saves the game when going to load a game, their character isn't saved but the other persons is. Ex:PC1 host, PC2 join. Therefor when starting a new game and loading character C2 would be whatever level of the last saved game done by PC1 but C1 would be lvl 1.
The () just let you know why I am doing each step and what is going on.
What to do:
1. PC1 hosting save the origional game (C2 is saved on PC2)
2 PC1 hosts a new game, uses lvl 1 character and PC2 loads their C2. (This allows for PC2 C2 to be saved and have his slate wipped clean)
3 PC1 saves the new game #1 (C2 quests now wiped, and C2 is now saved in the game)
4 PC1 sends a copy of the origional saved game to PC2
5 PC2 hosts the origional game and saves it over the origional game he was sent(now C1 is saved on PC1)
6 PC1 loads the new game #1 (since it's being loaded PC2 C2 will be an option to pick from characters...so he picks his characer, but since PC2 just saved the origional game on his cpu PC1 has C1 saved on the load character)
7 Play and enjoy PC1 has C1 and PC2 has C2 from the origional game but in a brand new game
Hope this helps.

How do you save Char2 on PC2?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see now. Boy do they need to change that...

Anyone know if this still works after the patch? I tried testing it the other night. Now, it seems that even on the host machine, the character isn't being saved and is a lvl 1 when you go to Load Character.
