I want to know if other people are having truble starting LAN games on there network????
I tryed turing off firewalls didn't work so what am i doing wrong??

If your going to play LAN, maybe your IPs must be set properly ?...
Dont know.. Try using INTERNET and taking DIRECT IP....
Thats what we use for LAN, because you cannot turn off PLAYER DAMAGE on
LAN....

No one should have to tweek my computer so i can play multiplayer!!!
I have several differnt games that work fine on LAN play why can't this one
Plus i all ready tryed every thing you said and still can't connect

The Internet/LAN play in this game needs some serious attention. It's going to lag out some until they can fix it.

Like I said in another thread, the Player Damage has been fixed by the patch. Safe Damage now works fine in LAN play, so the information given above is incorrect.
And the patch also fixed a LOT of lag and slow load times, especially in Arindale for us.
As far as setting your computer up for LAN play, if you're using XP, make SURE that the XP firewall is disabled. And setting the program options in your firewall to allow connections by dlords.exe should be enough to open up LAN play on your network. If that's not working, you could try setting the firewall to allow connections in the range of IPs on your network.

I did turn off all firewalls it still wont reconise a hosted game

Also if your running Norton antivirus 2005, you may need to disable the worm protection.

i have played a LOT of LAN DL, with only "minor" bugs. it was actually the only thing that stopped me from trying to take it back. i haven't had outrageous load times and i have been able to turn off player damage. i really enjoyed it, if only it was possible to give another player some gold.

thank you all for your help i try to do every thing that was asked for me to do it still don't work i'm just going to wait for the next patch.
If i host a game the other computers don't see a hosted game started no mater what computer host the game

YEs i see others in my network i can even take files off the other computers and put files on them. so it might be a game glich and i have tryen to reinstall it on all computers
