been trying to play this game on a lan all day and its at first was alright, minimal lag issues apart from sometimes when E or C is hit to bring up the stats pages it'll take about 30 seconds to open and again on close, had the odd lockup but was fixable by the server saving and reloading, but now im really about to give up completely because arindale is impossible to play
any building in arindale has huge lag issues, its basically impossible to buy anything or talk to anyone, whoevers server can talk to the people ok but the other player has to wait about 3mins for each mouse click to do something, and the more u talk the worse it gets untill u wait 10mins and it still hasn't managed to catch up, the server then notices the lag when they try to exit or save
we are playing in the same room on a 100mbit lan and i can watch him walking around on his screen after talking to someone, then 10mins later it'll happen on my screen, so seems we can't play anymore because we'd have to be willing to give up a couple of hours to try beat the lag it'd cause from talking to the people needed to get the quests
both of our machines around the same specs, gig of ram, 3000+ amds geforce 6's

Have you tried Direct Connect through Internet ?...
LAN seems a little whacked.
We play over the Internet and we have to turn OFF all our Antispyware, Firewalls and Antivirus programs....
REMEMBER ALWAYS TURN OFF MSN.... It sucks so BAD and eats all bandwith..

well i don't really see the point of trying to play anymore due to whats happened with our current game
we faced the lag by avoiding shops and only taking to people we had to and then going to watch some tv for 10mins, but turned out it wasn't worth the effort coz we can't play anymore, key people for the quests aren't responding to both players so only 1 person can progress properly, + lifts aren't usable most of the time as the client will fall through it, u can get lucky sometimes but its impossible to make it up the tower to see the wizard so only the server could do that
but we kept on playing and got to the point where theres nowhere to go, quests aren't doing what they should and can't do anything, i wouldn't mind starting over if i knew it would actually be finishable but in its current state seems pointless
i'd like to think i'll be playing this game in a couple of months and enjoying it but theres so much broken i wonder if they'll actually bother fixing it, when u read comments from the devs saying oh we never noticed any lag seems a bit of a joke

You are not the only one with this problem.we have been fighting this problem for a week.I dont think we will be playing this game any more ether.We have tryed everything.direct connect, Lan play, it doesnt matter.The game gets so backed up that the clients are seeing battles that happen 3 or 4 min. behind.It sucks and I cant believe that more poeple are not talking about this.How can it not be happening to everyone.we have started over all new charecters we even started over with the new patch and it still does it.I would have thought the beta testers would have knocked that one out quick.well thats it for this game.

me and the wife have been playing 3 or 4 hours at a time on LAN for 6 days without any issues with LAN play. Had a few herks when monsters are spawned (same thing happens on solo) and a weird warping bug when in Arindale but we haven't seen any major slowdowns. We are past the turn in of the Horn onto the pedistal and stuck in Emminodors Tower because it won't complete out my part of the text. Not sure if something is missed or text not completed somewhere before that could be causing the problem.
played it for almost a full day with a small Lan of 3 people. we didn't have any lag or issues. (running 1.1 patch)
i'm just worried though that a lot of quests will be bugged because the game only gives quest credit for one player. trying to find out if this is the case before we get to some serious multiplay or just stick with solo.
doesn't seem like there has been much testing in the multiplay side of the game though as so far the information we have been looking for has not been posted.
i guess there's one way for sure to find out if things work ;)

well the problem is at first things do look alright, the first town and the levels there are mostly fine, even when leaving the first town outside in the open it runs fine, so u could be playing for many hours without serious issues but it goes down hill from there so unless u've put a lot of time into it don't assume all is well

any of you play with three people yet and exit a shop with an over hanging roof and have 1 of you get stuck in it because the game stacks everyone ontop of the other
only hapend to me in arindale and had to restart because of it :(

lol how many players can this game have at once, im interested it trying to make a really tall stack of people now, can't do much else
hopefully the people at the top will fall to their death showing another quality bug, exit a shop and die
when i was playing before i entered a shop while poisoned had over half health, while waiting for the lag to catch up noticed my health was down to a quater so tried to use a health potion to save myself but ended up dying before it let me drink it, you know its good when u risk your life shopping, take on a dragon any time but see a shop and have to run the other way

i have no lag in Arindale but have lots of lag in Fargrove
the sector loads in the wild can be bad also
with the stacking of people if it gets to high they end up in wacky locations like on top of moutains somewhere lol

I have had that same stacking bug.I found if the guy that is walking out the door jumps right before he clicks on the door you wont get stuck.you will fall pretty far though.It didnt kill me or anything but it got us unstuck so we didnt have to star an old save.
