how to backup saved games folder???

i like to keep backup folders of my savegames, especially when i have multiple characters. is all i need to do is make the temp directory and copy the files, or are there other files i need to backup as well???

I have just copied the game save files I wanted to a different file folder.
This worked so well that I reloaded the game to play around with the bugs.
