Sound Effect Issues on PC

Hi

I'm playing Obscure on a PC (Pentium 4 HT 3GHz, 512 ram, GeForce 5, Sound Blaster Live 5.1)

I notice that the sound effects keep cutting out. I'll go into a room and the music plays, but no sound affects can be heard. I'll go into another room and the sound effects are back.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any way to fix it? I've updated all my drivers to the most recent ones.

Have you tried lowering the hardware accleration?!

Thanks for the idea

I took the SBLive Acceleration down a notch but it had no affect, I'll see if taking it down another will work, but then i think it disables direct sound.
