If you haven't read the review yet, it's here (http://pc.ign.com/articles/620/620684p1.html)
I was hanging on to some small glimmer of hope that this game would eventually be finished, but this review reminded me all over again why I hate this game. Actually, it reminded me why I hate the people responsible for the game in its current state, more accurately.
The bottom line: I'm done. I'm done with the fanboys calling anyone with legitimate complaints whiners, I'm done with the excuses, I'm done with the brow-beating from Dreamcaster any time any blame is cast on them, I'm done waiting around for this $40 drink-coaster to be finished. I'm trading it in for whatever meager credit I can get and buying a game that is worth the money I spend on it.
For all of you thinking "But they're still going to fix it! We just have to wait!", it's a simple matter of economics at this point. This game has been out for almost a month now, and there has been one patch that fixed nearly nothing. The second patch has been supposedly coming "any day now," for the past several weeks, and the developers have already flatly stated that the most rudimentary and basic features still won't be implemented until, at the earliest, the third patch, which is coming God knows when. The simple fact is, this game is never going to see a third patch. I'll be surprised if the second one is ever released. The game has sold horribly, been hammered in every professional review out there, has gotten the worst word-of-mouth reputation among gamers out there, and eventually DC is going to cut their losses and cancel all support for this game.
We will never see a finished product, and Dreamcatcher's focus on economics in their decision to push Dungeon Lords out the door when they did should be all the proof you need to see that I'm right when I say that. This game is not making them money, it's never going to make them money, and they are going to abandon it and all of us along with it. So I'm gone, and I can honestly say that it's very likely I will never, never buy a game with the DC label on it again.
Later.
