Anyone else get locked into one of the cells in Custard's basment? I am literally in prison, no way out. The door is not openable from the inside, i've tried every friggin angle. I even tried to make a second saved game and revert back to my first saved pre custard and for some reason it saved in both slots! Any ideas?

Haven't been there but did manage to get myself locked in the house of lords in airindale. After completing the elder challenge, I ran out the door then back in to ask a question (silly me) and the gate locked. I could find no recourse but to go back to prior save which was before the trial.
So I think you may be out-of-luck. Perhaps someone else will know a trick (or a save game edit?).
