Hi folks,
Can someone please help me with a problem? When I try to start Painkiller in single player mode it just dumps me back into XP with the message that's displayed in the attachment included. I've updated the game to the latest (1.64) but still no luck. Can someone help? Thanks!
Regards,
Tom.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Looks like you didn't update correctly. To patch to the latest version, the correct way is
- Apply patch 1.61
- Apply patch 1.62
- Apply patch 1.64
Or maybe you got one of those corrupt 1.61 patches... did you receive an error message during installation of it?

Yea, updated accordingly. Didn't get any error messages while updating. Any other suggestions as to what's happening? Thanks for the help so far.

This may also be caused by mods you're using that are not suitable for your Painkiller version. Are you aware of any mods for PK that you have installed? To check if you're unsure, take a look at your Painkiller/Data folder. If there's a LScripts directory inside that folder, try renaming it to something else (like LScripts-old for example). Don't touch the file LScripts.pak!
If that's not the case (no mods), I would recommend reinstalling PK. Make sure you have got a backup of your savegames (Painkiller/Savegames folder) you can restore after reinstalling. Once you've uninstalled PK, make sure the complete folder you want to reinstall into is empty. If you want to keep other things like your screenshots or demo recordings (besides your savegames), backup those folders too (Painkiller/Data/Screenshots and Painkiller/Recordings).
This error definately is caused by some mixed up scripts from different Painkiller versions.
Btw. what is your initial version? Are you using Painkiller only, Battle out of **** or Black/Gold Edition?

I got a script error when I tried to run Powermad 1.0b with version 1.5.
So mods are possible cause of the problem, so are wrongly installed/corrupted patches.

Uninstalled it, now it's working fine. Thanks for all the help!
