Has there been any mention if any of the upcoming patches will contain new content? Furniture for houses, dungeons, any thing like that? I realize they are just trying to get stuff fixed for now but I hope some of this stuff will be added. However, I doubt any new dungeons will be added.

Good question. I would like to know that myself because a lot is missing. Serveral areas are bland.

Question is : Will we ever see patch 1.3?

Patch 1.2 Is in fact looking grim, Heruistic Park is behaving in a similiar way as they did back in Wizards and Warriors Days, but at least they are communicating with their community albeit very little.

I'm crossing my fingers and let's hope they have made a good patch this time.

I do think they need to have the patches for fixing problems, bug fixes etc first....However, is the game still going to be worth playing in its current state even if all broken things are fixed, auto map is implemented and character customization is included?

So many areas are so bland, Im not sure even once everything is fixed if it will be worth investing alot of time playing.

But I guess only time will tell..

Guess ill go play Morrowind some more!

If Derek Smart is still making BattleCruiser games then I bet HP will release a few patches to fix the game.

I'm hoping that it does get all bugs fixed and the MAJOR missing content added in.

But, I'm not expecting to find Arindale paved, or new NPC's, or furniture or appropriate settings in buildings, or more side quests, or the Arctic Areas, or the caves, or a better quest journal, or access to more buildings, or any specific Day/Night quests, or a lot more spells, or any of the other things that would be needed to help make the world feel "alive" and the game feel "complete".

As to whether it will be worth getting when they've patched it as much as the're going to...??? Well, that's going to be an individual assessment. I'm sure some people will never get over feeling that they've been "taken" and will never be satisfied with DL. I'm sure some people will feel that the patches will have provided an acceptable level of service and will will be OK with that, even if not overly enthusiastic about the game. And of course, the people who love the game now will love it even more. So, you'll just have to make up your own mind.

Good Hunting!

Derek Smart is passionate about his babies even though they look like ugly gremlins and bite of your hand if you try to feed them, HP is directly the opposite and won't move a hand if they don't get their hard earned millions, if they had been passionate about their games w&w wouldn't be such an mess and would have gotten more than 1 patch released.

The mods arent telling anything, so waiting is the only option.
They promised alot of bug fixes and new content like an Automap.

I'm pretty sure what theyre plannign to do is merge 1.3 back into 1.2 ... thats why its taking longer than expected ... I bet as a surprise we will see 1.2 will have automap and character cusomization features.

I personaly feel they are trying to get all the major bugs fixed they can, add the prommised features that were in the manual, and then call the game complete, and we will never again see another patch. We will not see life as many would call it in this game, they aren't trying to make the world feel allive, you want life, play the sims... *goes outside and pukes over the thought of the sims*

I'm in Arindale, admittedly early in the game, but I haven't needed an automap.

Im not even that worried about auto map, it would be nice to have but I could play without it. I can even play with some minor bugs if all others are fixed. Im more wondering if any content like quests, dungeons, furniture, npcs are going to be added.

Basically I dont want to spend lots of time playing the game if they are going to add more content.

But Im having a hard time waiting because there isnt anything out right now i want to play.

Its kind of hard to feel engrossed in a world where a town has no furniture and barely and npcs....

I seriously doubt they will add any more content to this game. Maybe some fans will figure out how and add some.

How about Dreamstealer sends all registered owners a CD with all the missing content, fixes, etc. ?

(I'm not serious of course) :p

Sadly... gone are the days of quality customer support. I remember getting a game stopping bug in "Ultima VII - The Black Gate". I spoke with a rep at Origin on the phone, sent them my save game on a floppy disk with the problem, and they sent me a floppy disc back witht the problem corrected! Oh man, I thought that was great stuff. To this day I think that was one of the BEST roleplaying games I have ever played.

That would be a good idea, or some goodies for the buyers like a T-Shirt "I hate Dreamcatcher" or a DL tshirt :)

Trashing the Ultima series is one of the main reasons I'm not very fond of Electronic Arts. Look at Ultima Online. They have been pimping that old MMORPG now for like 7 years when you know they could afford to move forward. What a waste of a license.

I wish Richard Garriott would start a new role playing series instead of all these MMOs he's doing.

As for this game, it needs an interior decorator and a landscape artist more than anything. Maybe a Genesis Project to get more NPC lifeforms to interact with. Arindale is pathetic.

Auto-map wasn't an issue for me for a while... until I came back to playing the game after taking a break for about a week.

I opened up the last save game, saw my character in a forest and then said, "Oh, crap. Where am I?" The landscape offers very little in the way of distiguishing features. (Plus a virtually nonexistant journal.) If you forget where you were & what you were doing at your last save, you may end up wasting 15-30 minutes or so just figuring it out again. ;)

Would it be difficult to add content? I mean, if the models are already in the game, it feels like all they would have to do is place them on the maps.. Unless, of course, they would have to redo all the lightmaps and stuff. But more NPC's wouldn't be too hard to add, would it? I mean, just to make the towns/villages/army camps etc. seem more alive! I just want more fluff, damnit! :P

Yeah.. its odd that the assets are in the folders after you install, but they simply don't exist once in the game.

So, seems like this game would seriously need "some" viagra... :D

Amen to these thoughts! Garriott has wasted himself on MMO's when he could be designing great single-player games in 3D (if he didn't get TOO ambitious). The MMO business, while very successful, isn't the be all-end all that some people thought it would be.
