Ok, so it's been a week since you explained to us that the patch was not yet complete. You aren't done yet. Fine. However, you have not kept us updated whatsoever. In your last post you said 'we will inform you when we have information' or something to that extent. Well, its been a week and we (the purchasee's of your game) are still completely in the dark. Why will you not just post periodically telling us what you have accomplished, and what you are trying to accomplish. Its five minutes worth of work, but it would give 5,000 minds some peace. (probally more)

I guess my biggest worry is that they will release a couple small patches and then abandon the game. It could still be a notable game if most bugs were fixed and eventually some content added. Morrowind was pretty buggy when it was first shipped and look how long it has sold well since it has been improved and patched.
I know programming takes a long time, so I am going to try and be patient and hope for the best.

i wonder if they do not update us because there is noting to update. It maybe that they fix one bug and it causes 2 more so rather than keep posting "We fixed this one but still have more to work on or by fixing one bug we found 2 more" Then having the forums blasted with people saying that it should be an easy fix and complaining how dumb the programers are if they do not fix a bug quickly or the fixed bug causes more bugs. i would like an update on the patch but not at the risk of people flaming the boards because they dont like what was said about the patch. I think everyone has become use to the current complaints about communication.

Chuk22 at one point did share insights into the various things the devs were working on. That was one of the better attempts I've seen at communicating with at that time potential customers. Unfortunately between the rough release (note some amount of understatement here on my part) and getting ripped apart for talking about things that were being worked on but didn't make it into the release, and perhaps a number of factors we are not aware of, he's been very quiet for a long time.
It would be nice to start hearing some of the style of communication he presented before. However even if there weren't some sort of communication restraints which may or may not exist, I too would be a bit cautious both because of how things are being handled between the companies involved and how the public has responded, rightly or not.
Note that I am not making any statement for or against anyone here. I have my opinions on the company, the game, and the posters but will no longer share them in this forum. I'm just suggesting in a rather long winded way that any potential for detailed communication seems quite unlikely.

I dont understand why it has to be that way. What would be the point in putting communication restrictions upon Chuk and Bgaum? Wouldn't the publishers want to share with their customers the information which they most want to hear? Its not as if people will become any angrier or more riled than they already are if they hear 'we are having difficulty fixing this bug'

But, let's say they're working on getting the right handed weilding of weapons in the game and post that info. Then, a couple of weeks later, they find out they just can't get it to work, so it doesn't make it into the patch.
Now, with that being the case, they've got people flaming them, saying that they were promised right handed weilding and even more negative publicity.
I'm sure that's the major reason why they're not keeping us updated about what they're working on.
Still, I'll agree that I'd like to see some kind of weekly update, even if it's real generic. At least something to let you know that they haven't fired everyone and bailed on us.

While I'm not a developer...nor do I play one on TV...why would it take so long (years) to program this game?
It smacks of being worked on sporadically at best and perhaps as the "whim" hit one "developer" or another. Each one threw in some old code from Wizards and Warriors over the top of the old code that someone ELSE threw in...
...and so on and so on over the months and years...adding bug upon bug upon glitch...

They will post when they have time or the pleasure to post.

Then again they may not post and just release the update.

I can understand them not posting inbettween now and 1.2 but as they enter the 1.3 phase (if they do enter it) It will be a MUCH more time consuming patch and if we here nothing from them throughout the whole thing... Just throwing that out there

As more and more time goes by without a second patch, I'm beginning to get a sinking feeling that they're trying to cram everything into just one patch. And I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any more after that one.
So, we might be better off to just wait patiently for the patch, rather than take a chance that they'll rush it and leave more things out.
PS- Not saying that we should wait for months or anything like that.
