Since you gave us some information about the coming of the patches or should I say patch, I quess our next most concerned question is how big is it going to be? Not every1 is going to be able to dl it if it has enormous size.

Well, if things run true to HP/DC form, devicem, you have nothing to worry about.

...prepare to be underwhelmed...

I dont care much about the size, I just hope it will be here before monday or something.

We already waited long enough.

Me either, but there are ppl who can't just dl it with 56k, that's why.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, devicem. For those of us who aren't using 56k, we're going to be glad to get ANY kind of patch at this point. Personally--the larger the better, in my opinion!!

You may want to find a friend or another location that has high-speed access for the sole purpose of doanloading the patch if that's a problem. It's resonable to assume that the patch will be more than 20 MB at least, depending on how much texturing and graphics are added.

I'm guessing it'll be upwards of 60mb or so. Knowing all the crap they have to fix

Thx freshjuice, but I was hoping for more than 20 mb, I thought it is going to be more like an expansion rather than patch.

you can always download getright and use that if you have a slow connection. Heck, I use it and I have a fast one. It l;et's you segment the downloads (basically, download a fraction of it from different servers, thus increasing speed), and it lets you resume downloads later. SOrry though, no link, just search for it with google.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I highly doubt there will be any "content" in this patch such as more furniture or NPC's. In fact, a while back DC posted that adding things like that just simply wasn't in anyone's plans. We'll be lucky to get bug fixes, spells working AND automap AND character customization all in one patch.

Am I the only one who finds it strange, that according to DC:

Hello All,

We are now physically testing the new patch V1.3

This should be released in the next week or so, we will get it out to you as soon as we can!

Thank you for your patience.

they are already testing Patch 1.3 which should be released in the next week or so but, that there is no Status on Patch 1.2?

MY guess is that 1.3 will be delayed because of the testing, so we will get 1.2 "in german". Then the 2 patches will conflict and all save will be lost. Maybe this pic will help.

Make it as big as you have to, the more fixes/additions etc you can fit the better. At this point it doesn't matter DC is blemished and in my eyes only a large "patch" with loads of fixes/additions is going to make up for it.

I can download it from work so go for it.
BTW, thanks for updating us.

The worst thing is not that the patch will be large... it will be. The problem is that it will be large enough to be a pain to download yet it won't actually fix anything. It's like getting a big giftbox with a jellybean in it. I'm sorry for being pessimistic but I just feel bad that this game was sabotaged in such a bad way, that it must have been deliberate.

You mean it will fix (I suppose) everything but will not include anything new like new quests, npc's etc. Well that comes in the first patches, maybe in the next if there are any you might be able to see that ( which is very unlikely)

I think he means that it will be a large download that, when you install it, doesn't actually fix any of the issues in the game and may actually cause new ones to appear.

I don't happen to share that view, but that it what I believe Hurdoc means by his statement.

Than why it would be that big anyway?

All the missing furniture, maybe? ;)

Size don't matter on patches.... as long as it fixes problems!

All the missing furniture, maybe? ;)

Now that's gonna be a waste of the patch. :) OR maybe water balancing, and some phisics maybe like bats not swimming underwater.
