So.. they are working on 1.3, and it's almost done? so, does that mean there is no 1.2 patch anymore? or am I missing something all together? *confused*

I'm guessing that both the 1.2 and 1.3 patch was going to break saved games so they just went ahead and named it 1.3 so they can release it to us, Germany, and whever else and all the versions would be the same. This is supposed to have all the automap stuff in it. /shrug

Unless they release 1.2 after 1.3, which wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I'm glad they know how to count! :) ok.. that was a joke.. I actually like the game in some form of my insanity anyways.

well they sticky said status on 1.2-1.3, wich is rather confusing, if thier actually testing 1.3, then I would think that 1.2 is done, I just don't think they will ever release it, and just skip straight to 1.3... That is not very nice though, we could really have used those fixes when they had them done.

I think Shock touched on the truth, 1.2 is the version that was released in Germany. Using 1.2 for a U.S. patch that doesn't match the German released version would cause more problems than there already is.
Jeremy, glad to see a post with an update, even if it is a bit thin on information like a change log ;). Hopefully it will go well, we will have something soon, and I can dust DL off and give it another try.

I just hope next week or 2 they are not going to announce 1.4 is being tested and will be ready for 1-2 weeks, without actually releasing 1.3

...if this is a combo of 1.2 and 1.3 wouldn't it be 1.5? ;)

But that would be totally unprecedented.

Yeah... just whet our whistles (and they are pretty dry, believe me) with a list of some of the changes... PLEASE!!

Technically I think it would be 1.2 X 1.3 , which equals= 1.56 ;)
I can see why they'd skip = each one is likely to invalidate old saves. If they released 1.2 followed a week later by 1.3, ther'd be a lot (MORE) unhappy campers.

What if they just repeat it again and again until finally the release 2.4 after half a year, which is actually the original 1.2?

Which is very unlikely.

*Spins around and bends over*
Basically we're being tossed around like ragdolls with no say in the matter.
What happend to the good ol days when people said something, they meant it.
Why should I believe it's coming in a week, when they last time they said 2 weeks, its now almost 2 month. I could give less of a **** about the german release, their work here is not done. And instead of doing the right thing, and fixing their mistake, they ran to another group of people to bend over. I don't know why the USA lacks laws protecting us against this injustice. I should have been able to ship the game right back to the company and get a 40$ refund the moment I realized I got shafted.
And all that jazz about them not patching in the future, for the sole reason of not working for free, is BS... Because plain out we already dished out the cash. Whether they do the work in the future that they should have done in the past, doesnt matter to me, long as someone is being whipped.
I'm tired of the run around. I want to buy games that are made by people who dont have, "we can patch it later" in their vocab.
Unfortunately, we can't mass boycott a game before everyone buys the crap.
The worst part of it is all the stores know they may have/ will have crappy games for sale, and say no refunds right off the bat. But its not their responsibility to make sure game companies do their job.
The only solution I see is a requirement for game companies to send their "finished" game to an indepent game review paper, that we all sign up to receive via email, 1 week before they can release to the public. This way we can see that DL got a 20% for being not finished and have safely turned it down before it was too late.
People get away with being full of s**t now days because they're too far out of reach for a right b*itchSlappin.
Now if all the people who shafted me could just line up on my street, I've got the stamina and time for justice.

I understand your frustration.
Companies don't release unfinished, or really buggy products for fear of mass returns. The software industry doesn't have this consumer "safeguard" and as a result, has no reason not to release unfinished or buggy products and then try to fix them with patching (or not).
What needs to happen is that software companies need to be "Required" to accept returns if there is a valid reason for the return. Ideally, you shoud be able to return a defective, unfinished product to the place you bought it and they would then return it to the software manufacteror.
If gamers are really fed-up with this "Patch it Later" policy, they need to write to their Senators and Congressmen, requesting that Software manufacterors be Required to take returns and explaining why. DL would be a perfect example to give them of why the current laws are inadequate.

I wonder if 1.2 / 1.3 would include changes under the 1.1 patch, which I had failed to install after several attempts including extracting and overwriting the files from the update ...

Can anyone say, "Microsoft"? I wanna return my copy of Windows! :D

Thats exactly what MMORPG's are for.. take WoW for example.. i've played that on and off since launch.. each time i log on it's because the game has gotten better, with fixes and new content. Sure i may pay 15 dollars for a month of play time, but it's much better to pay 15 bucks for a month of play than to be shafted out of 40 bucks of junk.
When you pay to play.. you know what you're gonna get.. you know that the company can't shaft the gamers too any large degree or they'd loose all the paying customers. Pay to play is where it's at, and what you pay for is what you're gonna get (even tho this isn't worth a tenth of the 40 bucks).

Can anyone say, "Microsoft"? I wanna return my copy of Windows! :D
Then what OS would you use? And since you do have a problem with Windows why ARE you using it still?
Ive never gotten anything from Microsoft that wasnt top quality.
First off, it was a joke... for the most part...
Anybody ever hear of Windows ME? One of the most bug-filled OS's ever realeased. I'm not saying that Microsoft doesn't make some really cool stuff, my point was that even the "top dog" of software releases service packs/patches at a phenominal rate. I understand that it SHOULD be done correctly the first time, but it hardly ever is.
Now, on to DL. I just got the game myself, and I haven't even played it yet! I'm waiting for the patch because I don't want to take a chance on getting frustrated with the game like so many others. I'd rather wait and get the patch and be happy with what I have spent my hard earned money on.
I'm not here to start anything, I just find it funny that everyone is giving dreamcather a hard time over something that Microsoft has been doing from the very beginning... I had my copy of windows 3.0, I remember. lol
I'm not doggin' MS, I use Windows because it's the only real choice, and to be honest I DO like it! Thus the joke. SMILE!!! I'm not looking for an argument, just a little light-hearted humor!

Technically it is
........1.3
(1.2)
which is ehhh.... not 1.56.
I think the true reason is, they worked so fast, that they overtook 1.2 without knowing it. That is until now... 1 week after promised 1.2 release date.
